SO does this mean they have TWO separate front upper wishbone suspension parts, and they are a different shape?

Does that have something to do with which revision CT it is, or are they really installing two different upper arms in the front for different weight classes?

These images present more questions than answers.

Just making the point that the evidence is pointing to the original post not actually showing a bent control arm due to off-road use. This is a newer rc unit — I am not saying the upper control arm isn’t light duty just that the original premise was probably wrong!
Newer than the RCs? Maybe, but this is most likely the same one Franz took to the Petersen Cars and Coffee back in June. So not representative of the new builds we are seeing around Austin.

this is an RC unit not the original prototype that franz took to the cars and coffee. But I was just saying this is the latest version of the RC units

At C&C Franz wasn’t in the original prototype, or an RC - he was in an early beta (same one as Investor Day, Lithium Refinery event, etc.)

And there’s nothing here that suggests the one in black wrap is ‘a latest version’ of an RC unit. This could be the same RC we’ve already seen with the same bent upper control, or another RC altogether - of which there are a lot.

that said, the point is taken to an extent

I *dont* quite buy that the visual is due to a difference in camera angles

I’d be more compelled by the possibility the difference could be due to the air suspension being at different heights, and the resulting geometry changing the angles at which these pieces relate. This wouldn’t make complete sense to me, but more understandable than suggesting the following to photos are merely an optical/perspective

You're right sorry I was thinking of the grassy venue where they brought out the original prototype from the peterson, I just looked up the electrified cars + coffee.

Latest image of the new matte black RC upper control arm, same “bent” look. It may be a lighter duty control arm but this whole discussion is probably a nothing burger.

That balljoint is not destroyed and the other one is.

Probably be a good idea to divert CT wrap fund 12k to the aftermarket suspension fund 20k, lol.

I can say some more next month on this but the aftermarket already has some options under development

This has to be pre production. Even the MX has beefier UCA’s. But those MX UCA’s are still unimpressive compared to trucks built to last. Coming from an insanely over built Land Cruiser that’s been built to last a lifetime, this looks like it’s been built like to be consumable NOT Baja ready.
