Cybertruck factory pick up in Austin?

Does anyone have confirmation as to whether or not we can pick up the CT at the factory (and forgo the almost $2k destination/delivery fee)?

No. Destination fees in the US are, by law, the same for every customer no matter where you live and where you take delivery. You will pay the same in Maine or Austin. They are an estimate average of all vehicles delivered.

I live in Florida and asked if I can pick it up at the Gigafactory, they said it is not possible. I asked because I wanted to take advantage of the early deliveries in TX and CA, but they wrote that I have to get it delivered in the same state where I live (which was definitely not the case for Alexis Ohanian, but who am I to compare myself to him...). I bet the destination fee would apply though.

I agree with the answer that you will pay the charge no matter where you pick it up, but my desire to pick up in Austin is to see the factory, pack up on the best BBQ the country has to offer (IMHO), and road trip home.
