Can’t wait to see people lose their truck then try to sue Tesla for misrepresentation…. You know it will happen. Key words, “will stay a float for a bit”. How long is your “bit”

Do you think they'll have offshore Superchargers
Excellent question, I wonder if someone will attempt driving from Long Island to England?

Pfft, Long Island to England is too short. Atlantic crossing by amphibious vehicle ( modified Ford GPA - an amphibious version of the Ford GPW Jeep) was done way way back in 1951. 1951 !!!
First circumnavigation of world by amphibious vehicle was done in 1958.

Ben Carlin proposed that the couple honeymoon by crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a modified Ford GPA (an amphibious version of the Ford GPW Jeep), which they named the Half-Safe. Beginning their trip in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Carlins finally completed the transatlantic crossing in 1951

Even row boats have done Long Island to England.

The first and only circumnavigation by an amphibious vehicle was by Ben Carlin (Australia) in a modified Ford GPA amphibious jeep called Half-Safe. He completed the last leg of the Atlantic crossing (the English Channel) on 24 August 1951. He arrived back in Montreal, Canada on 8 May 1958, having completed a circumnavigation of 62,765 km (39,000 miles) over land and 15,450 km (9,600 miles) by sea and river. He was accompanied on the transatlantic stage by his ex-wife Elinore (USA) and on the long trans-Pacific stage (Tokyo to Anchorage, Alaska) by Boye Lafayette De Mente (USA).

Carlin Circumnavigates the World in Amphibious Vehicle, "Half Safe"
Sparked by an idea he had had whilst in the military, Carlin proposed that the couple honeymoon by crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a modified Ford GPA (an amphibious version of the Ford GPW Jeep), which they named the Half-Safe. Beginning their trip in Montreal, Canada, the Carlins finally completed the transatlantic crossing in 1951, after unsuccessful attempts. From there, they travelled to Europe, temporarily settling in Birmingham to raise more money. They resumed their journey in 1954, traveling overland through the Middle East before arriving in Calcutta. After a short fundraising trip to Australia, Carlin's wife left to return to the United States. He resumed the journey with new partners, traveling through South-East Asia and the Far East to the northern tip of Japan, and then to Alaska. After an extended tour through the United States and Canada, he and Half-Safe finally returned to Montreal, having travelled over 17,000 kilometers (11,000 mi) by sea and 62,000 kilometers (39,000 mi) by land during a ten-year journey. Following Carlin's death in 1981, Half-Safe was acquired by Guildford Grammar, his old school, where it remains on display.

Ocean rowing is the sport of rowing across oceans. Some ocean rowing boats can hold as many as fourteen rowers; however, the most common ocean rowboats are designed for singles, doubles, and fours.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_rowing

The first solo crossing of an ocean was completed by John Fairfax of Britain on 19 July 1969. He rowed from Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands to Hollywood Beach, Florida in 180 days. In the same year Tom McClean, also of Britain, rowed from Newfoundland, Canada arriving in Blacksod Bay, Ireland on 27 July 1969. Despite having left almost four months after Fairfax, he came within 8 days of beating Fairfax to the title of first solo rower of any ocean.

Can you cross the ocean in a rowboat?
The world record for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat is held by team The Four Oarsmen. During the Talisker Whisky Atlantic challenge they rowed 4,722 km (2,554 nautical miles) from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua aboard a Rannoch R45 boat named Aegir, arriving on 12 January 2018.

Auto policies are going to start having clauses "damage from Porpoise, Shark, Octopus or Poseidon himself not covered".

Not at all. Snorkels are way over-rated. The engine never ingested water. It was fine. The rest of the vehicle? Not so fine.
Impressive

I learned that a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine air intake is just behind the left fog light. A snorkel would have saved my insurance company thousands of dollars. Engine destroyed, small amount of water got the carpet wet.

Granted, the problem wasn't really that it needed a snorkel so much as it should not have been designed with a built in snorkel that went downward. I believe they did raise the air intake in a later model year.

I just realized, you could easily make a paddle that bolts onto the wheels.
remove 2 of the 6 lugnuts, replace with longer ones to hold these on
