Oh, I see the edited OP now. I don't think that's something the admin would do, so my guess is Patel edited his own post?
Admin does those sorts of changes to OP posts all the time.

My hot take... maybe Tesla limited the throttle for several reasons, but a juicy one I can think of is this:

Release a non-prod version to testers and limit the throttle. When they eventually get around to pitting it against an actual racecar, the internet will try to put the CT on blast for not living up to the hype...

... until they reveal that it was software limited and it ends up beating it after a second run with the software limiter off.

So, basically a smart marketing ploy that has plausible deniability and organic reach. With basically zero dollars spent.

They have done this before

1) cracked windows in the 2019 demo.
2) software limited performance on the Model S plaid.

you can’t be serious to suggest that either of these were some strategic market ploy

the window cracked because the demanding work

the plaid was speed limited because it wasn’t safe/capable of 200mph prior to software and hardware upgrades that didn’t come out until later

look, this guy comes in and says “that’s not even a cyberbeast, you can tel from the lack of engravings” - that’s been proven wrong, to anyone paying attention

he then says “the warning sound is the speed limited” - that’s been proven wrong, to anyone paying attention

he then says, “ok it’s a beast but it had AWD firmware when TH used it,” - that’s been proven wrong, to anyone paying attention

Meanwhile, all this claptrap in order to give some “explanation” that isn’t needed

non explanation is needed as to why a fully functioning beast would be slower in a 1/4 mile than a 911 Turbo S

Tesla says a beast has an ~11sec 1/4 mile, the Turbo S has a ~10sec 1/4 mile

So, to @Woodrick’s point:

go ahead, @Cyberbestia: carry your thought through to its natural conclusion and explain to us:

why you think a fully functioning Cybertruck should have a <10sec 1/4 mi, despite Tesla saying otherwise?

yes, I am completely serious and confident that it was a stunt. The event was plasted on every single tabloid and news outlet in every country on the planet the next day. Zero dollars spent.

the plaid was speed limited because it wasn’t safe/capable of 200mph prior to software and hardware upgrades that didn’t come out until later
So, same result? lmao

The rest of your short-story can be summarized with this response:
it's honestly not that serious dood. maybe some fresh air and sunshine is in order ?

Updated with more info on this Cybertruck (posted by @Cyberbestia)

This is a regular Cybertruck, running Cyberbeast software with manufacturer plates and was being used by several influencers at GigaTexas. It was limited by software to a top speed of 112 mph, which is why all the bells were going off at the finish line. Another set of influencers noticed the speed limitation and Tesla engineers updated the firmware on the regular CT to simulate the Cyberbeast UI, however, it's not a Cyberbeast.

The Cyberbeast is built entirely differently, moving rear motor to the front and having two additional motors at the rear, not something that can be duplicated via a firmware update, which was what the engineers were testing on the CT in the video.

Pretty impressive performance from the Cyberbeast. That's a top dog dragster it's going up against.

'Bring on the CYBERBEAST'
Quarter mile rematch......c'mon!!!!

I love when they compare apples to an RNA Polymerase.

Next, please create a video on how much dirt each can carry while climbing a steep incline and carrying 5 full grown men.

Actually, you are arguing for the sake of arguing. Throttle House tricked you, not me.
You win, have a nice day.
Only on a Tesla forum could someone vehemently (and incorrectly) call multiple people wrong, but then claim someone else is arguing for the sake of arguing. Have a nice day. Cheers.

How fast was the Porsche going as it went over the 1/4 finish line?
I don't think they state/show in the TH review, but there are plenty of independent 1/4mi times for the 911 Turbo S

all of them have the S clocking a top speed in the 1/4mi between 132 and 137 mph

which makes sense in the context of the TH review - naturally, the CT was way out in front early, but in the high end the 911 speeds/catches up

to put that into context, in late 2000 Motor Trend ran a Model S P100D and the 911 Turbo S. 0-60 Tesla was at 2.28 seconds and the Porsche at a 2.35-seconds.

“Don't think this means the Tesla will win a proper drag race, though. The Model S gets the holeshot, hitting 30 mph in 0.87 second to the Porsche's 0.94, but it starts to lose steam at higher speeds. A [tesla] 10.5-second quarter mile at 125.0 mph is ludicrously quick for a production car on street tires, but it's not quick enough to beat a 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S at the test track. The Porsche might launch fractionally softer, but once it's moving the 911 will run down the Tesla before the finish line with a 10.3-second quarter mile and a trap speed of 132.3 mph.”

Put differently, the Beast gets to an 11 second 1/4 mile in virtue of its time off the line, while the Porsche gets to an 10 second 1/4 in virtue of its speed in the back 1/8th

The truck in this video is a ‘Beast. I know the exact VIN. It doesn’t have the Cerberus on the tailgate because it’s a pre-production truck. Pre-Foundation Series.
So this is one of the tri motor MC's (#845-854)? They also mentioned rattling in their full review. I thought it was an MC when they said that. It hasn't been mentioned on any other reviews.
