Would love to DIY this. Service center is very far out of the way for me. I wonder how hard it is to remove the dash? I'm assuming not easy if the service center busted one trying to fix the rattle.
I wouldn't play with it. As long as you have the warranty have the SC fix it. I'm assuming you have the same rattle and same area as the OP? I have the same.

I have to revive this....this rattle is killing me!

Anyone DIY it? Service appointments near me are over 3 weeks out. I don't want to wait.

I fixed the rattle in my headliner. I'd like to tackle this one as well.

Hi, does anyone know how to remove the dash, maybe lift it up, just above the steering wheel? I circled where I can hear a prominent rattle. Don't think it's the steering column as others have mentioned as it's higher than that, right in the circled area. Thank you.

I don't know how to remove the panel, but apparently you can damage the connectors when removing it. The service center fixed it. Below is the note from my recent service.

The culprit (for me) was the IP Airwave Module. So, even if you can get the panel off without breaking a connector, you may need to replace the module to fix the rattle.

I don't trust myself to DIY, but this was worth waiting for service. Got it done the same visit as fixing my rattling suspension air compressor. Now I drive around with no music and the air off in blissful silence.

I have a rattle in the exact same area of the dash. Never fails at exactly 54 mph it rattles. Occasionally, I hear the rattle when traveling over certain bumps in the road.

This is crazy im seeing this today, just picked mine up from the SC yesterday for this exact same issue. They said it was a faulty vent motor

I do not have pictures but I added a simple strip of foam (black foam from the homedepot aisle of window and door draft stopping stuff) on the back of the cabin light assembly. Took many attempts to find the rattle.

But headliner is so easy to pop off and on. It's def a DIY job if you want it to be.

That's awesome news. Glad it went well for you.

If you tap or smack the dash panel, do you hear anything? If I tap/smack mine, it makes the rattle sound.

If yours doesn't make any sound then I'll assume I need the same service you had.

Glad it was fixed!

If you tap the dash panel now, does it make any rattling sounds at all?

This maybe unrelated, but I had the same sounding rattle, and it was coming from the trim that surrounds the steering wheel. There is a piece on the bottom of the arm that allows the steering wheel to slide in and out. And that piece would vibrate when I had the wheel fully extended. Try adjusting the steering wheel all the way in(away from you) and see if it continues. It’s actually easy to just hold it with your hand while driving and the rattle stopped. I fixed it by putting a tiny piece of rubber trim between the two rattling pieces.

I had this issue too. I think i just over extended the steering wheel. I ended up pushing the steering wheel all the way out and moving that plastic piece in and then bringing the steering wheel back in while pushing on the piece and it popped back into place. It’s supposed to go in a channel. Now i just setup my steering wheel just shy of all the way out for regular driving.

Interesting, For me all the way out doesn't go out far enough. And I'm not a tall guy, nor do I have short arms. I'll check and see if that is what happened to mine.

My Airwave module was broken from day 1, fusing to adjust in inboard/outboard direction. Since replacement requires R&R of the whole IP, I decided I could live the the anchored airflow easier than some new rattles lol. I'll probably get it fixed before the warranty expires.

I have my squircle adjusted out/up fully. I feel like the limits on travel were designed for a much larger wheel. Since the squircle is relatively small, it really needs more adjustability, at least for my tastes.
