We have an order due to be delivered between Jan-Mar. If the vehicle is not delivered during this time frame, could we ask for the original deposit back? Or, will Tesla get to continue to use these deposits to bare interest? I am asking this for those of us who have questioned this. I recognize my deposit is minimal compared to those who have paid in full and zero VIN.

The Jan-Mar delivery was an estimate, a refund is unlikely based on the order agreement.

Yup, they even state that in your order agreement. Always read what you sign!
It’s not a big deal here. My husband and I were really just thinking about those who were PIF without a VIN yet.

One complaint I do have with Tesla is their poor customer service and how petty they can be with deposits. They put you in sometimes unreasonable time-frames to take delivery and they don't hold themselves to the same standards.

It's still unclear to me how anyone was even able to do this without a VIN or delivery appointment scheduled... The app pane for payment is greyed out at this stage.

You will wait longer. You speak as though Tesla is trying to screw you and everyone over. Is that how you work that you would think they would? Do you take deposits and make interest on them while holding off on paying people back? I suspect you are saying more about yourself than about Tesla with this post.

sure, and this is a valid thing to say only if you can not sign it and still get the truck. "The company can do whatever they want because you can only get their thing by agreeing to whatever they say" is really a ludicrous position to have.

Ours is also greyed. I believe it is cash versus financing in nature Cash is a pretty simple process. The system is is probably designed this way, which is not cool.

This is how most large companies are run right now. Customer service doesn't exist for most companies right now. Ford, GM, and any other legacy car maker is the same way. They will pull the same shenanigans on you, especially some of these disgusting dealerships you have to deal with.

I know, and they all suck too. Not singling out tesla in this regard. One of my favorite episodes of South park was about exactly this. "HumancentiPad"

Not to be rude, but this sounds like what they used to say about Mercedes-Benz maintenance: If you have to ask how much, you can’t aford it.

Well then don’t sign it?

Forgive me but isn’t how contracts work? You get something for signing the agreement?

if you don’t agree, you don’t sign and you don’t receive what is being agreed upon?
