If your car is quiet, i don’t recommend trying to fix those seals. I just have my windshield replaced and it has a lot of wind noise now. Brought to SC but they just try to add some foams and it doesn’t fix the issue. Looks like Tesla technicians don’t know how to install windshield correctly.

Took delivery of my CT 6 days ago in Las Vegas. While inspecting the truck during my delivery appointment I noticed that the seals along both sides of the windshield were not uniform, and in fact appeared to have cracks in various places from the top to the bottom. Almost looks like cracked old tile grout.

The Tesla delivery center had no service techs at work at the time I took delivery, so I accepted delivery and immediately photographed this (along with a few other issues) and scheduled a service appointment.

The earliest SC appointment wasn't for several weeks.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other CT's to compare mine to, so I figured I would reach out here to see if anyone else's windshield seals look like this. I would assume that these seals should be nice and uniform, and look like a seal/gasket that is consistent from start to finish.

Any insight is appreciated!

what was the final fix to this- my cybertruck is so loud they're saying its normal, i've been in 2 more whisper quiet. Attached mine is even worse then this- also does your weatherstop stop half way down on the windshield side? Thoughts?

Yep. Pretty common. Mine was like that straight from the factory. I had them repaired under warranty immediately.

I would simply like to point out that are not "seals" in the traditional sense of the word. In other words, the area behind is also considered a wet area.

They are just there to protect the edges of the windshield and roof glass from the stainless steel should it be impacted by something. They also help maintain uniform alignment of the stainless steel trim pieces.

I'm not saying the OP's situation is normal, I can't really tell what I'm looking at without inspecting it in person.

If this area is not properly sealed, it may create unnecessary wind noise...

Mine look like this too, which I addressed at my local SC but they basically said it's "within spec" and showed me 2 other demo CTs on the lot that were the same or worse.

Have to agree that Tesla Service don't know a lot about the CT in general. Minor or major fixes seem to have them scrambling for information and parts.

Joe says Friday near end of shift I want get out here.! that’s BS crap work. Mine probably done by Joe on Wednesday is flawless. Dont buy it’s ok,it could get worse. I have perfect runoff in that area. In seriousness looks like windshield was attached at factory and repositioned tearing some of the rubber lining.

Basically I have so much wind noise it’s driving me nuts. Are you saying this isn’t the window seal? There is one behind this? Where else could all the wind be getting in? Ride in my friends it’s very quiet

I was checking out my new CT Beast that I picked up a few days ago, VIN 43xxx. I think mine looked similar if not the same. I had a few hundred mile trip over the holiday and noticed loud wind noise so I was checking the trim pieces and noticed that. I’ll double check tomorrrow.

I’ve noticed that with mine too and it concerned me also. Don’t love how it looks but not sure if it’s worth a service call?

always try and avoid Tesla SC at all costs
