I don't think the issue is totally on the wiper itself, rather the windshield cleaning function. For instance, my wiper seems to clean the window fine when an adequate amount of liquid is on it (i.e. raining) However, living in the northeast (PA), the biggest issue is not being able to clean the salt off the windshield b/c the fluid does not put enough fluid out to do so. The streaking is horrible (moreso when any sunlight or headlights shine on it) which makes for hazardous driving conditions. They absolutely can and should fix this with a software update.

I have only been in rain.

I keep the windshield very clean and coated with RainX. Wiper works well for rain but occasionally wipes for no reason I can find. Sometimes parks down instead of up. Over 80 mph the wiper lifts if a gust of wind comes (90 mph or more over the truck), usually works on the next pass.

Trying to clean the windshield in the snowy and salty roads of Michigan is horrible.

It seems like it's a geometry problem.
The outside of the arc of the wiper path likely travels 4 or 5 times as far as the inside of the arc of the wiper. But the spray amount is the same across the entire blade.
The increased travel distance requires an increased amount of fluid.
The holes should be closer together, the further out the blade you get.
That is assuming that there would be enough fluid volume and pressure supply the extra openings.

My 2 doges...

My wiper has worked pretty well until this winter. When salt or any other debris is on the windshield there is not enough washer fluid being sprayed by the wiper to actually clean it off. Instead it just streaks making it worse.

If I throw some snow on the windshield and let it melt a little then the windshield is clean again.

I would like them to adjust the amount of washer fluid that is sprayed out and I feel like that would resolve any of my complaints so far.

Tried everything from RainX to cleaning the viper inserts but nothing works! The streaks left are so bad that the FSD immediately disengages, shoots out a warning to take over immediately. Have an appointment with service center next month!

If anyone reading this has a perfectly fine and working windshield wiper, please comment. I have a theory that all of our windshield wipers are not working properly, but only the people living in areas where the weather requires a clean windshield often have noticed the issue.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s just my windshield wiper that sucks or if this is every Cybertruck. I’ve seen a couple comments from folks about the wiper and the jets that shoot wiper fluid. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains a lot as well as the roads are just damp and dirty. What I’ve noticed is that not only do the jets not properly spray fluid over the entire windshield, But the wiper itself doesn’t really contact the windshield near the top of the wiper. It’s acceptable for the driver even though still about 30 to 40% of the viewable area remains dirty. But the real problem is that the area that doesn’t get enough windshield wiper fluid and the wiper doesn’t fully contact the windshield smears dirt across the entire camera housing area. Making auto pilot and FSD unuseable even in perfectly acceptable weather conditions. I received my truck on Dec 23 2024 with a vin ending in 039xxx

My experience has been OK. obvious room for improvement, particularly in the fluid spray low volume (could this be changed with a software update?). However, I'm coming from a 2010 Wrangler with the worst wipers ever, so maybe that's why CT seems ok with me.

Mine worked great, this was before winter. I involuntarily had my wiper replaced due to the recall, and it came back missing large parts of the windshield, wiped almost nothing above 70mph. After 2nd service on the wiper, it would fold under itself at the bottom and top of the stroke, and not park properly. After 3rd service it seems good, but I still need more wet time. I've had the CT for a year, And in my opinion one of the updates changed the volume of the windshield wiper fluid spraying. It seems less now. The performance on the passenger side and the top of the blade are definitely worse than the driver side and bottom of the blade. If I'm right and they did do a software update to reduce the flow, hopefully they can up the flow again, and even have it shoot on the downstroke and the upstroke.

I'm in Edmonton, Canada. My wiper spray barely outputs any liquid and then smears dirt all over the top of the windshield, which blocks the mirror camera and disables FSD. Wiper spray is quite essential in a place with snow and slush on the road 6 months of the year, which gets kicked up to one's windshield constantly.

Mins works fine in the horrible Michigan winters here. I replaced the washer fluid to a better one. I also realize that you have to keep the washer “on” pressed down for multiple sweeps before you have enough fluid on the glass to work. I use a lot of washer fluid! Overall, it’s good. The auto function goes on too much however.

Picked up Mine on 11/20. I dont think the wiper worked great either, now we are in Snow Season and the salt spray is a real issue, I put new blue fluid in and I notice the lower half kind of puts fluid on and the upper sprays over the truck and does nothing. Also for no reason it wipes when it does need to and that smears whatever across the glass requiring me to then struggle to get it clean. Its at single digit temps now and I don't want to have to fix it now if I can help it, probably break off if I try flexing it too hard lol.

I’m in CA and FSD keeps telling me it’s degraded because of the camera. The wiper can’t really clean up there as you mentioned. I think due to lack of downforce on the wiper contacting the window up there so it just smears dirt around it.

I have a service appt to change the motor on the wiper but I doubt that will fix it since you have a later build and have this same problem.
