Driver side Cold Breeze when making a right turn

Hi All,

just curious if anyone has experienced a cold breeze when turning in Cold Weather.

doesn’t seem to be a window leak, but cold air is getting in somewhere when making a right turn and I can’t seem to find where it’s coming from.

appreciate any tips or ideas to narrow it down.

Any chance you are subtly leaning/ changing position on those turns and that is giving you a more direct shot of air conditioning? Just a possibility.

Negative, its been an ongoing issue for many owners. Not sure if they fixed it with the new trucks..

If the cabin is not fully pre-heated (ie. pockets of cold air exist), warm air coming out of the vents has less density than the cold air in the cabin. I've been noticing this in various vehicles for decades. If you accelerate the cold air (being denser) moves to the back of the cabin and the warm air is displaced to the front of the cabin. The same thing happens in turns as the cooler air moves to the outside of the turn and the warmer air is displaced to the inside of the turn. You can feel this happening in real time.

Was driving on the highway the other day. 75+ mph and felt a cool breeze. Touched around all my doors and felt air coming in at the back corner or my driver door and from corner of the rear passenger door. Front passenger side nothing, rear passenger side front had the breeze. I then turned the heat on and it all stopped. Not sure what is is but it just instantly went away with the heat on. Try that and see if that helps. Maybe it is an air duct that takes in air from outside of the heating/ac is off in the vehicle?

My theory is that cold air is able to accumulate between the windshield and the dash board, when you turn right that air is forced into the driver seat. I imagine the inverse is possible on left turns for your passenger.

This is likely denser cold air moving to the left side as a result of the centripetal acceleration effect of your right turn. A bit like a centrifuge - the heavier air is forced to the outside of the container.

I thought I was expriencing this when I first got mine (took delivery Dec 2024) but haven't noticed after the first couple of weeks of ownership (2024 AWD, built Nov 2024).

I live in Phoenix so there really is no cold weather but I am very interested in what causes so many owners to experience this

This is an old post, but the issue remains, especially with this ultra cold spell we've been having in Northeast.

There's just no way this is cold air building up and then moving with the cabin. Every time I make a right hand turn, cold air comes flowing through the dash on left of steering wheel. And it's far more of a flow than a bit of cold air moving. Very easy to notice yesterday a -10F, very noticeable this morning at +5F. It truly feels as though something mechanical is opening or something isn't blocked when making right turns. Long right hand sweeping turns create the same effect.

I've got an IR temp gun, I may indeed take a video to see if we can capture temp change

Feels like front end is just not wheel sealed from air infiltration
