I think it would be nice if Tesla gave us a charge port on the front, passenger side of the CT. This would allow those of us with trailers more options for charging without unhooking.

I wonder how much trouble it would be to add a second charge port if Elon doesn't give us one in the front.

Tesla prefers simplicity, but that is a pretty cool idea. Even without a trailer, being able to not have to flip the truck around. It is still ~60" longer than the average US car.

Once the semi is ramped up and in widespread use it may be possible for a Cybertruck pulling a trailer to use the same charging station as the semi. Those will have to be pull through to prevent having to pull head in or back into a charging station with a long trailer. Very similar to how ICE trucks fuel now. The only problem would be if they use two different plug types. The semi might require a larger charging port due to higher voltage and faster charging times. As my lawyer says "where there's a will there is a relative".

ANY thing would be better than the “car” gas flapper shown at launch tucked behind LR wheel arch. I have eyes on that bodyflare widing the wheel opening for 40” fitment.

Nice thing about your suggestion for dual charge ports, it lessens the leap to dual asynchronous charging like Semi.

Given that Elon doesn't even include stalks on the steering column anymore, I think the odds of dual charging ports is zero.

With only 1 charge port though, you'd think Tesla would relocate it to the front, where it's convenient for haulers and irrelevant to others. But I think Elon's OCD would prevent it.

Having all the charge ports in the same place makes it easier to design stations. There are usually one or two charge stalls suitable for people towing at each station.

I think Tesla prefers its cars to back into spaces, for a quick exit.
Opening up the Superchargers to non-Tesla’s is going to shoot that effort in the foot.

Going to be infuriating rolling into an empty stall at the Supercharger station and realizing the guy in the stall next door is using the charger for your space because their charge port in on the off—side and it’s the only way it’ll reach.

I suspect that wouldn't help much. The problem we have with charging now is limited to battery capabilities, not the charger. As the chargers get faster, the batteries can only handle max input for a very few minutes before they start tapering down. Even with the CT's larger battery, I don't think you'd be able to dump 500 amps at it for long enough to make the overall charging time much shorter.

The front right location does not change the design of the station. It would be the same as the back
left.

Too many stations where this means people with trailers pull into a stall and end up blocking access to other stalls. IMO better to have separate spaces for trailers where they aren't going to block everyone else.

Of of the nice things about Superchargers is they can be very compact. If you make all the stalls trailer friendly then suddenly they have to take 2-3 times as much space and where the stations can be is limited.

I believe that!

Read a study that tested higher volts. Only thing that upping the voltage affected was first 7 min. charging. Time on charger remained nearly the same.

But why? Why would Tesla publish shorter charge times, like a lot shorter with its v3 Superchargers?
