The video below was posted by Joe Tegtmeyer, a Cybertruck owner who provides generally positive coverage of Tesla and SpaceX operations in Texas. He thinks that "over a couple of thousand" Cybertrucks have been purchased by other Musk-owned companies, including SpaceX, the Boring Company, xAI, and Starlink.

He also states (starting at 1:53) that Tesla has had a "fairly large" inventory of Cybertrucks (and he would know, because he regularly flies drones over the Austin Gigafactory). He further indicates that the sales to other Musk-owned companies are a good way for Tesla to reduce that inventory.

I think Elon was all along wanted to build a fleet pick up truck for Space X and other of his company's usage.

His initial phase was why not try selling it to public first, then if sales are low, build it for their fleet use, or someday Mars use.

A pick up truck was definitely needed for work use. S3XY just can't cut it for work use. So, instead of using F-150s for transporting components, now they have their own work fleet vehicles.

Elon has everything covered. Space exploration, freight transportation, satellite communication, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, social media, tunnels, cars and trucks. 4D chess.

Joe also does multiple drone flyover videos at Giga Texas every week. Out of the blue in the past week hundreds of new (mostly RWD) CyberTrucks started appearing in the outbound west side lot.
So, while they undoubtedly will use up the remaining dead stock, they are also obviously producing lots of fresh 2025s for this sudden surge in sales.

Maybe not, but regardless of the source, it does seem like an impressive number of new Cybertrucks have been delivered to Starbase. Have not tried to count them

CyberCity!

Do we think these were a lot of 2024’s? Because honestly, what were they supposed to do with those in October? Give them away for free for Halloween or scrap them?
Or did those all get sold with the free supercharging 0% craze?

Very cool, all those parking spaces on the road side of Starbase are painted with "Cybertruck Only"!

I always thought it was funny to see so many frumpy looking legacy trucks working at Starbase when Tesla made trucks that didn't need a gas station and were more fitting for the jobsite. In fact, the Tesla detractors loved to call Elon out for not using his own trucks at Starbase, now they act like there is something wrong that he IS buying his own trucks!

Tesla detractors will always argue both side of the same coin in their attempt to throw shade on Tesla.

Well, CT seems to be one of the rare business failures for Elon. How did it go from 2 million pre-orders to selling just a few thousand each quarter?

Given how much Elon does, he will have a few failures along the way. But the guy has an incredible track record.

I stopped at the Sarasota Tesla Store yesterday to ask about my order (9/19) and what was taking so long. The response was that CT are on back order.

I recently completed a 7,600-mile coast-to-coast journey in my CT, which performed reliably throughout the trip. Drawing on my background as a retired law enforcement officer, I recognize the potential of CTs as effective patrol vehicles. Based on my extensive experience owning various vehicles, I find this model to be markedly superior compared to those previously utilized for patrol purposes. While the initial cost may present challenges for some police departments, the long-term advantages could justify the investment, especially if Tesla offers discounted pricing. Should police departments begin adopting these vehicles, an increase in sales is likely. Currently, CTs represent a forward-looking development in the evolution of patrol cars.
