You're not alone @Adrenalinwill . My results are also unacceptable despite my careful and precise following of the instructions. (My application experience was very similar to what you described.) Like you, I used one of the earlier kits. I am going to have to strip it all off. Thankfully, my husband has been very gracious and understanding. IG: cybertruckig
Sorry to hear you had the same experience. I believe regardless of how the video between Colton and Jackie turns out in June, those who have actually tried the product would never recommend it to anyone we liked ? I’ve stripped one panel and you will need a solvent specific respirator and gloves. The fumes made me nauseous and the acetone melted the thick nitrile gloves. Use lots of rags/micro fiber folded in quarters and in the fashion of the karate kid, wipe on acetone, wipe off Protectaclear, repeat until gone. The product just gets smeared all over if you don’t turn and flip the microfiber enough. ??

I'm not really sure what's in it, but it's kind of like coating the metal with a lacquer/shellac. I just don't think it's needed on the Stainless, and the problems people have experienced with application and removal are real.

It’s a polymer coating that hardens, if it wasn’t for the difficulty it n application and gaslighting by Everbright, the product does get rid of fingerprints completely. But there is a discoloration from original stainless to a yellowish tint. Not smooth anymore but more like a rubbery feel.

I had tried a version (or maybe it was the exact same if it's still the same formula) of this several years ago... but don't know if they have changed it in any way. It did look sorta plastic to me at the time. I recall it can also be sprayed.

It’s the exact same formula, updates have been different applicators as Everbrite experimented on consumers over the past 3 months. Yes, it does look a bit plastic

N95 masks don't have any vapor or chemical filtration and offer little to no protection against chemical vapors, gases, etc. You need a mask or respirator that will protect you against volatile organic vapor, like respirators with VOC cartridges that contain activated carbon.
My apologies. I was incorrect in my assumption of masks I've used vs N95. As you've stated, N95 mask does exactly this. I apologize for my error. My experience revolves around the M50 not N95.

It doesn't seem like eliminating fingerprints is a good reason to coat a super-durable metal with a more fragile plastic coating. If I had a clear plastic coating on my Cybertruck, I would be nervous everytime I drove off-road, with branches and shrubs rubbing down the side of my vehicle. As it is, I have no worries.

Because it's hard frickin' steel!

It was a long debate and seeing the difference between clean HFS vs patina contaminated HFS, anything to keep that light shine became an option. Great news is, anything can in essence be buffed out of the HFS with minimal effort. ??
