Just had mine coated in ProtectaClear by professionals, it turned out great! Think of stainless steel elevator doors or elevator button panels at like a hospital or hotel. You know how they have that laquered, slightly glossy finish? It's basically that. In fact it's literally that, the guys who did mine said that most of their work is on elevators.

I just finished my second coat on my truck of protectaclear. Goes on really pretty easily. Takes about 45 minutes per coat. After the first coat I thought I might need to rename my truck "My little pony" with all the rainbows, but the second coat cleared it up. I did apply the coats light to avoid runs and such. Will see if some areas need a touch up here soon, but overall after the second coat it is looking great. Used a drywall mud pan to hold the liquid and bought suede applicators from Adams. You definitely can do this with one can, I did not come even close to finishing one, even though I protected some of my concrete floor with it when I dumped the open can over.....oooff!

Here are a couple photos. Maintained the stainless character well. I opted not to over polish the truck before application. It does look unlevel at times after application, but does seem to level out pretty well. There are a few spots I can see a ripple, I will probably hit them again with a new applicator sometime in the future. Curious to see how well it washes now. I plan to let the truck sit 4 days to cure well before driving. Not sure this is necessary.

Would anyone share their thoughts on ProtectaClear after a couple of months? I have the kit and just got my VIN waiting delivery

Curious about this myself. Haven’t heard of any month+ reviews after application. Any scratches? Peeling? Repair spots that didn’t go as expected?

@Fleetwood75 or @Obecalb any thoughts now that you've had your truck coated for a few months? How do you wash the truck? Thanks for sharing your experience.

It didn’t work out for me. After two professional applications I’m still having issues. Getting it stripped off this week, and maybe going with PPF, we’ll see

@Fleetwood75 what didn’t work?
Had it professionally applied, but it started coming off in weird blotches. They blamed it on potentially being a bad batch, and then they stripped it off and reapplied it. After the reapplication I followed all directions, I let it sit for three days and then only ever washed it with Dawn dish soap and water, but it started coming off again. I was told that nobody else experienced that problem, so I'm not sure what's so special about me.

Same experience here. Also comes off when removing vinyl wraps.
