Just saw the design and start of construction on a 32 place Supercharger…

… sadly it did not seem to have any real solution for trailers. If anything the layout was a bit tight for a truck with trailer to navigate.

So sick! I so want it…….it’s going to take a lot of “remedies” to get through this year and half, possibly more.

I may be wrong but isn't that charge port located in a slightly different spot than the original prototype?

Yes, the charge port has been relocated to the composite fender flare. Cutting holes out of stainless is a PITA.

I like the idea and the reason sounds good but considering the distance from the chargers with such a short cord, I hope it won't be a problem but from the picture of it charging, seems to be OK. I know some want a front-mounted port so unhooking a trailer, boat, etc. won't be such an issue. Maybe one both ends could be an option for an additional cost.

I don't understand the logic on this. If the port is in the front of the vehicle you can pull the truck in forward and leave the trailer connected... blocking traffic and/or other charger stalls?

In America, "convenience" is about me, not about you

Very location specific. In our area, all but one of the Supercharger locations have spots that would not block anyone when leaving the trailer attached, so common sense would need to prevail.

If you can't back your trailer up, please spend a holiday weekend in a mall parking lot and learn to do that. I've always felt that reversing a trailer should be a prerequisite to pulling one.

I'm hoping it is addressed the same way gas stations address it. Make the charging stations pull thru.
I spoke with the owner of a gas station that hosts one of the superchargers up here. Tesla doesn't pay rent for the space. The deal is, you host, you get the passenger traffic that your restaurant/c-store can benefit from.
Under that kind of model, I think having owners commit to allocating the increased space required to make them pull through would be hard come by in a lot of locations.

Most of the superchargers down here are on space rented by Tesla.

Fascinating, not at all the deal up above the 49th from what we've been told. Guess they figure we have too much land anyway. ;-)
