First time towing help - hitch receiver?

I was hoping someone can help me.

"Yes the camper is available for this time. Just want to confirm that you have a regular 2” square receiver for the hitch, Inhave a weight distribution hitch with the 2 5/16 ball that this trailer uses. It is also a round plug for the lights and trailer brakes. I am not familiar with the cyber truck towing set up."

I have a receiver with multi balls on it. but I am not sure about the rest.

Cybertruck uses 2" square receiver and has both 4 pin and 7 pin (round) connectors.

Are they giving you the weight distribution hitch (WD) with the camper? If so, you wouldn't need your multiball, but could use it with the 2-5/16 ball.

Oh a rental, you'll be fine with that small of a trailer.
Might be able to skip the weight-distributing part, but that also adds sway control (which may not be needed given size). Some WD/ sway hitches need unsprung before backing up.

Are you going to power it from the truck?

I am going to power it at the camp site. I might try powering it from the truck to test it out.

If this is you first time trailer camping be aware that at most campground locations the power setup is for only one of the 30A or 50A outlets to be used at a time. Charging the truck while powering the camper can overload things.
And the truck outlets don't work while AC charging.

Thanks so much for that info. I have camped before and have noticed two sets of breakers for each outlet. I was not aware that you can only use one at a time.

Would I be able to plug the CT into the 50a and the trailer into the CT bed outlet?

Each outlet is protected by an appropriate breaker, but it's only a 50A circuit to the site since RV only use one cord.

Sadly, the Cybertruck outlets, including bed, don't work when charging from AC, only fast DC charging like Superchargers.

You could power the trailer with the 50A outlet, and charge the truck from a 15A outlet on the trailer. The charge would be slow.

If I understand you correctly, I can use the power outlets in the bed of my CT while the CT is charging on a Supercharger, but I can't use the power outlets in the bed of my CT while the CT is charging on a 240 outlet or my home Tesla charging station?

That is correct.

If you’ve got all-terrain tires, don’t forget to air up to 65 PSI. You’re good at 50 with the all-season.

I wouldn't bother with a weight distribution hitch with a trailer that small on the Cybertruck. Do make sure the ball height and tongue weight is correct.

Also make sure the trailer brake controller is not adjusted too aggressively. That will ruin your range.

You want the trailer level when the truck is at medium height.
Trailer tongue weight should ~10% of its total weight.

That trailer is fairly light so a low gain may work fine.
