Foundation series FSD transferable?

Likely it’s a car someone transferred FSD out of and then sold. That said, when other cars are traded to Tesla, FSD is removed.

How can they charge you for fsd and not let you sell it with the vehicle,seems illegal

If you've purchased a Tesla with FSD and you sell that vehicle either private party or to a dealer, FSD stays with the vehicle. If FSD has been transferred from one vehicle to another during a promotion, then FSD is removed from the source vehicle moving forward. If Tesla obtains a vehicle with FSD through trade and then sends it to auction, they strip FSD (they own it, it's their right) when they send it to auction.

FSD transfers (transfer to a new vehicle, not transfer to a new owner) were originally restricted from FS Cybertrucks, but Tesla seems to have allowed it in the vast majority of cases, probably because a new vehicle sale is more important to them than holding the line on FSD transfers. That has the potential to cause some confusion in the future if Tesla sends those FS CTs to auction without FSD, since buyers won't know for sure if a FS CT purchase from a 3rd party dealer actually includes FSD or not. It doesn't seem like Tesla is reselling CT trades as used, so I don't know if they are using those internally as loaners/demos or sending them to auction.

I find it unlikely you'll be able to take delivery before 3/31. I'm also in TX and ordered Premium AWD on 2/13/26, no VIN yet.

Ordered 2/6. They told me today I should expect the vin soon, whatever that means.

I'm in the process of buying a the premium AWD CT, and should take delivery in the next couple of weeks (Ordered at the start of Feb). Every rep I've spoken with has assured me my FSD will transfer from Foundation AWD.

I can tell you I transferred the fsd from my FS CT to my new Cybertruck about a month ago.
