I can't be the only one that constantly hits my head on the sharp corner of the frunk. I'm 6' tall and with the frunk open, in easy entry height, I'm constantly hitting my head as I walk around the corner of the truck. sometimes enough to bleed. I usually curse at Isaac, but it's not his fault, and he's my best friend. When new he had a little plastic bit on the corner to prevent such a thing. I lost one within the first 2 months. I thought "I need to take pictures and work on a 3D print for this." but before doing that, i lost the second.

Well i just found a replacement. It's on Amazon of course and cheap. I'm just trying to decide which side I want out... I'm leaning towards putting the CF side in. The backside is uglier and utilitarian but seems to go better with the overall esthetic. No offense Isaac. I haven't mounted them yet, so i took pictures of both and will wait a few days for opinions.

My interior is heavy on Carbon Fiber, with some on the outside as well.

I take the Lord’s name in vain every time I bend forward right there and nearly split my skull.

Thanks for posting this!

I posted few months ago, bought a roll of clear silicone edging and placed on all sharp corners. They look dirty, but they are barely noticeable and attached fairly firm.

Also, setting the frunk height to max open has also helped slightly, but i still have battle wounds.

@hemiarch these are the OEM ones I was referring to that I have. They dont do shit to protect your skull, but i guess its better than nothing.
Whoa. Those are nice. Discrete . My car is back in the shop right now not just for terrestrial armor but also for the same complaint I had on my first one.
In the Arizona sun the frunk doesn’t stay open. The struts give out after a few minutes and it comes crashing closed. On my first car they replaced the struts which solved it. That’s a problem with small kids because it’s functionally a guillotine and it’s a place they sit. Right now I use a manual prop rod anytime they are sitting there. Maybe I should put a soft strip along the whole bottom edge

Wow, that’s be scary when the strut gives out! Beautiful pic, btw.

The other guy beat me to the pics, but mine looks exactly like his.

Thank you. Very very grateful for those three.
I actually added your pic to my service request to see if they will retrofit the part.
Thank you for that.

Great timing, as I was just about to order something to pad the corners.

Looks like this will be an uphill battle. Anyone know how to find the part number or should I just get the Amazon version?

My truck had the factory corner protectors (Vin 1000), so I assumed all trucks had them, they were not installed post-delivery. I've scoured the EPC, but can't find them on there, but I'm pretty sure if you look at most any other truck in the SC they'll have them, and if they really need the p/n, they're just stuck on with VHB (just completed the buy-back on ours, so I can't go look).

Mine had a smooth finish, so from the photos upthread, it appears they revised them slightly, but my head is here to tell you they don't do much to stop you splitting your head open. I think I've managed to do that 7 or 8 times when wrapping or doing stuff in the frunk, and I progressively get more and more annoyed by the design. It got me one last time on Thursday when I was de-Armoring it for return.

So I’m genuinely curious even though I understand your opinion may be colored by the fact that it’s a piece of your business, how much of a pain in the ass is dearmoring?
