That was such a dumb story.

The old way was you could set the exact speed with the scroll wheel. Small clicks were 1 mph, if you rolled it it would jump up 5, but with E2E that went away.
Maybe what I’m proposing is not more precise but I think probably more intuitive

Tesla/Elon keep saying that all input is error and they've slowly taken away our choices as FSD has progressed. Eventually there will need to be choices...allow FSDU to get tickets or adhere to the speed limit, but individual limits or maximum are seemingly difficult with their NNs.

The options are to set profiles...sloth stays the speed limit and it goes up from there to the highest in mad max, which I've seen do 60 in a 45.

They've hinted they will remove those at some point and want the car to simply drive conditions relative to the limit as with FSDU there will be no preference in speed.
Until there is FSD UNsupervised and Tesla is fully liable for what the vehicle does it is our responsibility and we ‘must’ have control over the car. If not, then only fools will use FSD and the NHTSA will still go after Tesla. So, ‘too hard’ is suicidal.

Neural Nets

A neural network is a machine learning model inspired by the human brain, composed of interconnected nodes organized in layers that learn to identify patterns and make predictions from data. These networks use a process of learning and adjusting the "weights" and "biases" of connections between nodes to minimize errors and improve their performance on tasks like image recognition, natural language processing, and forecasting

Neural network. In short, we have programs that emulate how neurons work in a brain. You give it an input, and it gives you a numbered output. Connect 2 or more of these in a row and you now have a neural network.

You can show the NN a picture of a cat, and if built properly a value of 7 or higher is most likely a cat.

A NN can get so complex it has millions of layers. As you can imagine, it becomes nearly impossible to pull them apart and understand problems they might have. So instead you keep making new ones that have the results you want, and KILL the other ones. Its like evolution.

Waymo doesn't speed. People complain about it, but I think it's the safer option.
It isn’t just about speed. Driving is contextual; sometimes we need extra speed, and sometimes we need to pass. @dalton108 said it quite well - assertive driving. You don’t need a profile for that; you simply make sure that FSD drives safely but assertively. People that insist on pushing the limits (e.g., 85 in a 65 zone which, I believe, is careless driving) should probably not be using FSD.

Without max speed control I wonder how FSD 14 is going to handle the situation where it thinks the speed limit is 90MPH in 65MPH zone. V13 sets itself to max speed 85MPH which I dial down (see photo). Yes, I have cancelled FSD and sent a recorded message multiple times since I got the CT in June.

So nothing for Canada... great.... fml.
If you want to simulate it in preparation, you could pour a little maple syrup over the right scroll wheel and leave it outside overnight so it can’t move at all. Then just go driving in v13.

sorry @jahansolu, nothing but love here for our Canadian brethren, just couldn’t help myself.
