Noticed my charge was limited to 24A and sure enough, after getting into Service Mode, PCS2 has failed. I have an appointment with Tesla for repair in a couple weeks, but one question I have is: will they replace both or just the failed one?

This is important for me as I tow very often and like this weekend, was in an area where only Level 2 3rd party chargers were available to me. I manage only 3 miles of range per mile driven when towing, so there were some harrowing moments. We luckily managed this weekend, but if they do not replace both and I have to stress over when the other will fail, I may just sell the thing - my livelihood is more important.

FYI - 33,734 miles and 20000 VIN; however, mine is not under the "official" recall.

The PCS is a unit. It will be replaced as one component not repaired. Haven't heard yet if Tesla is in the refurbishing business of PCS units yet. Maybe soon.

Who is designing the PCS failure badge? That could get some people to notice this issue a bit more.

Thanks - makes me feel much better.

CERTAINLY some of you talented folks on here can come up with our badge of failure.

Not that I am feeling FOMO. But I have a 11xxxx VIN and checked the recall page, nothing stated for my vehicle. I’m nearing 35K miles, if PCS fails, I hope it does under the recall rules before I get to 50k.

Quite frankly, after reading this forum, I was looking out for it ever since I turned 30k on the odometer. Otherwise, I don't know that I would have noticed the slow charging, since I charge overnight. Seems like most on this forum report it in the 30k mile-range. But there have been a few who were out of warranty, so they were over 50k. I charge almost exclusively at home, so I wouldn't think *how* you charge has anything to do with it.

Im a 19xxx vin with 8k miles and a PCS failure. I was having issues charging from the grid last few months stopping randomly and unable to restart it again. It finally posted an alert for the PCS. Not driving it until my service appointment. It can happen anytime really, tell tale signs are charging issues and unable to resume. Never really noticed issues because I rarely charge from the grid using my solar most of the time.

If you use the truck for work I would reach out to Tesla and tell them you need it expedited, some members have gotten it replaced in under 48hours.

Reading this forum has persuaded me from charging overnight at 20 amps to always charging above 24 so that I know when it happens.

I had the same exact issue - I charged at 24amps or lower regularly. Wanted one day to charge to 100% so bumped to 48v - woke up in the morning with charging error, but it did charge to 100%. Just could no longer go above 24amps. Then a few days later, the PCS failure message popped up.
