Went to take delivery of my AWD dual motor cybertruck, 77xxx VIN. Upon inspection there was a large gouge in the metal of one of the rear side panels. It was deep enough to catch a fingernail when running across it. Overall this was the only issue aside from the tailgate being slightly higher on one side, and what looked to be hundreds of iron deposit spots on the frunk. From what I understand the iron deposits can be removed easily.
Delivery/sales reps said they weren't sure if the gouge in the metal could be fixed or repaired at the service center. Instead of accepting or rejecting the vehicle, the delivery was just rescheduled to allow time to figure out options. This was an inventory vehicle and there are no other inventory vehicles within 200 miles that match my specs. Still waiting to hear back from Tesla, as communication is difficult directly with the delivery location.
Would you accept the vehicle with the gouge? Or ask for a new VIN? Other considerations are this vehicle came with 1 year free supercharging and premium connectivity, and I was approved for 0% financing with FSD. So I am wondering if all that would transfer to a different VIN if this vehicle is rejected.
