Nice, did you silicone it or anything or do any extra work to it? Mine leaks exactly there where the cable passes under the trim. I've tried silicone but still no success.
No I just kind of tucked it under the glass.

It weirdly rained today, so I checked again and it's still dry in my bed.

Kinda impossible to tell from the pics, but I believe you. You would need to check the back glass and wall as that is where it runs down, it doesnt pool in the bed normally as it just runs out down that wall. Also, mine doesnt do it unless its a decent amount of rain overall.

It was kind of a light rain, but yea I haven't noticed it even in a touchless car wash.

I will try to get some pics as well. I tucked the wire up under the glass edge with some of those plastic pry tools and then awhile back I put a new seal all along the whole metal piece to stop leaks per a video I found on YouTube. The extra seal makes a world of different in my opinion as the factory seal leaves a lot to be desired... I do NOT have the extra slat in my tonneau cover nor do I think it is needed as that will only slightly reduce any splash water that hits the tonneau cover and bounces underneath the metal overhang piece. An extra slat would only reduce that slightly which you can see if you crawl inside your bed with a light and close the tonneau cover and then inspect.

How about some pictures taken in the rain just now? Truck has been sitting outside in the rain for hours...

If anyone here is like me, I just cant stand when a company has me rip apart the interior, only to find out later a harness disabled a feature. While I didn't even notice the speaker was not working, it just bothered the hell out of me.

I saw solutions here that I was uncomfortable with. Splicing wires, positaps, fuse banks, worrying about amperage, etc. while all good for some I just couldn't do that.

Here is my working solution:

1. I have a powered USBA/USBC hub that I keep plugged into my center console. This eliminates the need for me to need a plug for my laptop, or anything else I may plug in there because most of my devices use USBC for power. When I am driving, I keep that outlet powered on. It is relatively low power draw, but the best part is the outlet shuts off when I exit and lock the cybertruck. Here is what I keep plugged in: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Charging-Station-Compatible/dp/B0CT2NQ7WG/ref=sr_1_3?sr=8-3

2. I bought a monoprice brand USBA 15 ft printer cable**. I plugged in this cable to the hub and it provides the 5v needed for the mirror. I simply ran it from the center console to the back, under the passenger seat, and through the door sill plate, up the pillar to where the hansshow harness used to be. Cut the USBB side of it and you will use the red and black wire. It was $5: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003L11CRU?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

**NOTE I am changing this cable to a 16AWG and only using the USBA as a small pigtail- I dont like the voltage reading due to the long run with 28/24 AWG the wire is too thin

3. Unplug the hanshow harness, replace the cybertruck harness to factory state.

4. CUT the hansshow voltage converter off- you dont need it now since the hub powers your USBA cable 5V. Splice the wires : USBA red wire --> hanshhow red + yellow wire. USBA black wire -->hansshow black wire.

5. Mirror powers on when you enter, assuming you keep your center console power on like I do. Outlet turns off when you exit, mirror shuts off with it. No wires are showing.

You're done. Took 10 minutes for this fix.

All speakers fixed, no whacky methods or voltage/amp wonderings. You now have potential expandability for other devices through the center console with the powered charging hub.

Now I can pretend that I was actually missing the audio quality that hansshow broke using a crappy harness. I notice no difference, but I feel better.

The end.

I hope this is useful to someone.

Why bother installing a rearview camera? The screen in front of you has a view of what is behind just fine. I never miss not having to look up at a rearview mirror on the front windshield like in most cars.

I guess if you just miss that piece of glass that reflected the image behind the car doing all this effort is worthwhile?

I have clear images to my sides and rear on the big screen -

I removed that useless little rearview mirror and even the side mirrors are not necessary- they do provide a quick reference when FSD decides to change lanes but I have never had FSD attempt to change lanes into another vehicle.

Tesla rearview camera setup already provides a view behind the truck perfectly and it can be easily expanded to a view of left right rear easily enough as well.

I can think of multiple reasons:
1 - what do you do when tailgate is down due to carrying large items like lumber?
2- How do you monitor items in the bed of the truck?
3 - How do you see what is behind you when you are at a left turn lane and signaling to turn left?

Those are 3 that immediately come to mind where the factory setup doesn't show you what you want to see.

Oh #4 - How do you see when the factory rear view camera lens is covered in water or grime which is the case in rain or winter?

Any one of these reasons may be enough for an owner to justify the purchase....

Nope - seems unnecessary to me- any camera can be obscured by rain or whatever.

I have never driven my truck with the tailgate down- - the issue is not the purchase it is the installation effort and definitely don’t like the idea of messing with the factory wiring.
