I learned since the day last May when I got my Foundation Series that it generates reaction, mostly positive but some negative. For the negative, including snide comments and a few middle fingers, I just smile and flash a peace sign.

I get it. This is a different vehicle from a company whose head cheese is as polarizing as he is genius.

Lately, however, there’s been a lot more vicious reaction. Yesterday, in an Uber to the Colorado Springs airport, we saw a CT on the road and the Uber driver went on a huge rant about everything that’s wrong with the Cybertruck and Elon and EVs in general. When I pointed out that (1) he might change his mind if he experiences a Cybertruck and (2) he might be spewing his untruths to someone who owns one. Like me!

Didn’t faze him a bit, and he ranted the rest of the trip. “It catches fire and you’ll be trapped in it.” “There’s not one charging station between Colorado Springs and Tucson.” “There’s no way to tow something.” I could go on, but you get the picture. He dropped me off and I just laughed it off as another stubbornly ill-informed jerk.

Today, a friend who also owns a Cybertruck sent me a video of some true rage on the road that he experienced. Two white vans were passing him on the freeway and the second, who had been gesturing through an open passenger window, swerved briefly into my friend’s lane. A few days earlier, my friend said someone spit on his Cybertruck as he sat at a stoplight.

When stuff like this happens, the hate is going way too far. If (or when) it happens to me I hope I’ll have the restraint not to lower myself to these idiots’ level and retaliate.

Somebody spit at my Model x at a stoplight yesterday. He was driving am old pickup. I will get my cybertruck at the end of the month. Hopefully the novelty wears off for the haters.

Love mine more every time I climb into it. And I was very skeptical before we picked it up.

I’m cool with people expressing an opinion, baseless as it is sometimes. But when the hate comes in the form of someone trying to drive you off the road, it has crossed the line (no pun intended).
This statement is so true! At first I was like “did I order this because I got caught up in the hype? It is kind of strange looking “ but everyday it’s grown on me more! 5 months in and I love mine.

I don’t know where you live but in Los Angeles you can call them Monday tell them
Your being murdered and they don’t show up till Thursday , unless you have tinted windows or no license plate then they can’t wait to give you a ticket. Hopefully this all changes soon

We all know why the CT gets hate we just can’t say it because “it’s against the rules” hard to have a truthful convo about it that way. I notice ALLOT in Colorado. The puzzle pieces fit !

I don't know why so much hate but before i was 100% decided on the cybertruck word got out that i liked the cybertruck around the office and people would come up to me and say they wouldnt be seen with me if i bought that truck and that truly solidified my decision to buy one. I really dislike haters and Thankful for Crypto so i won't have any payments. ?
Same happened to me in my office during my reservation process…they would have conversations that would start off about how is the delivery process going & I would tell them I’m waiting for my “invite”. They would all act like the process was insane even though Tesla has done this with all of their brand new vehicles for years & they must be doing something right since it is currently the best selling vehicle in the world (MY & M3 before it). Then the conversations would eventually turn into it’s looks ugly/weird & they don’t understand why I want it etc. Fast forward to the day I casually drove it to work & parked it for the 1st time after delivery….”ALL OF THOSE SAME PEOPLE CROWDED AROUND IT & ASKED TO LOOK INSIDE & TURNED INTO “HAPPY CHILDREN”! FROM THAT POINT FORWARD THEY SAY NOTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT IT ANYMORE…but I could instantly feel the underlying disbelief that I pulled off financing & made it a reality! The 1st thing that always comes out of my mouth when people ask me how do I like it is “I Give All Praise To GOD For All Of His Blessings…including this…even though it is just a material thing….I believe in staying humble & giving him the rightful praise”. Then I go onto to tell them how it is literally in my opinion the most technologically advanced/best vehicle ever built!

More reason to buy it. lol. Who says shit like that. Unless your my wife or kids, your opinion of not wanting to be seen in that doesn't matter.

I think Elon is doing what he's doing to have less people like that around here. The fact that there are so many people who simply hate other person's property because they DiSaGrEe with the political views of the property's creator? Seriously? Imagine showing a middle finger to somebody who likes apples because you like oranges... I'm not a political person at all, but this fact even pisses me off so much.

I had a fun experience last month as well. Around the middle of the video, this dude in a tiny Ford Focus got on the left passing lane on the highway and held his middle finger up until I saw him. He then tried to speed off. When he realized his mistake, he got very shy. Probably shouldn't thought it through given we were together for several more miles

Exactly! People who have actual hate for Elon or Tesla are the kind of people you don't want in your life. The Cybertruck could be used like a divining rod to determine a person's rationality.

For example, if I had a business and needed to accept job applications, I would narrow down my top picks during the interview by asking them a few Elon Musk questions. If they failed that test, I would assume they would act just as irrational in their capacity as my employee. All the Elon/Tesla misinformation has a way of separating the wheat from the chafe when it comes to the ability to make rational decisions.
