Half way through my charge session on the Universal charger my power dropped from 48A to 24A. Anyone else ever run into this? I stopped the charge and the app showed 48A again and when I restarted it dropped back to 24A again.

PCS, submit service request and gain a few months of free supercharging while you wait for parts to arrive.

Likely a PCS failure, welcome to the club. Confirm it by going into service mode and reading those alerts.
Had a roadtrip planned, think it’s safe to go ahead with it?

Supercharging. Is fine on most failures. And if you make the appointment now you might get the free supercharging before the trip. Just make sure your destination is near a supercharger in the event l2 charging fails completely like mine, I’m unable to charge at home.

Your failure was before they started the free supercharging. After double checking status your under Specs and Warranty in the app, ping them in the service chat.
yea I did that, they closed the chat said they was investigating it, I waited a few days and crickets still pay as you go, I just a few mins ago changed service centers will see what the other one says.

You are going to have to replace you Power Converter System (PCS) soon. Best make an appointment on the app on your phone. Then go to the Tesla Service Center.

Yup, PCS failure, one of the two 24 amp units is down so the truck throttles down to the existing one at 24 amps. I even replaced my Universal Wall Connector, with Tesla's help, thinking that was the problem, early on. New WC, same 24 amps...so you too, my friend, are stung. Report it to service straight away and you should be given free Supercharging until July 20th. I can live with the 24 amp as I only charge at 32, but nervous about a long road trip coming up. SC says 3 months until parts arrive.
