I just found out my truck, which has been driving fine for over 5000 miles is a candidate for the motor replacement. They have me scheduled for next week to make sure they need to do it but it’s likely. I just want to know how long it took your shop to replace yours. I’ve seen numerous post about the motor swap but don’t remember hearing timelines. Everyone seemed so chill about it. My vin is in the 7000’s.

they already assigned me a loaner, trying to get them to give me an X or S or FSD at least.

Back in 2013, Tesla replaced my Model S P85+ motor in about 2.5 hours. Four bolts and a few wires. Not saying that’s exactly how long yours will take, but at least you now have a reference point. Hope this helps.

Had both mine replace and it took them 3 days once the parts were in. I think the service manual lists 3.5 hours for at least the rear drive unit replacement. Wouldn't be surprised if I was their first motor swap so maybe took them a while longer.

Here's an idea, reply to the Service Request and ask them.

Yeah did that. They simply say can’t tell until they evaluate the vehicle they don’t not like to put timelines down if it’s a longer job

What caused both your motors to be replaced? I had my rear motor replaced because it was causing bad vibrations bad enough to where you could hear as well as feel it above 45. I originally picked up my truck back in April so I am in the 3700s. My truck was the first motor swap for them. Once they got a motor in, it was only 2 days to replace and test it. I am kind of hoping to get the front replaced as I heard it is more efficient and perhaps quieter. I do have suspicions that it will need to be replaced as my truck is now getting the oil pump replaced in the front for low pressure.

I was having regen vibration between 40-50mph. You could feel it and hear it slightly. I was suspecting they would replace the front unit but did both.
