1983 original owner - rare Cdn VIN. Plus, my (bought new) 7 year old 2017 X is like mint and with every OTA update it´s like I just traded it in for a new model. Smart CT owners will be driving them for 20 years, not 5.

Alright, here’s my confession. I was a day two pre order. Patiently waiting for my turn to come. Two months ago I received the email for the Foundation Series and rolled my eyes at the offer. I told myself I will not cross that line. The trucks price has already been hiked up quite a bit but I still considered it fair price considering all economic and value factors.
Since then I’ve opened that email numerous times getting all the way to the final moment of clicking to order. Every time I have gotten there common sense kicks in and says no way.
welp, I have to admit I have no clicked that button. A mix of excitement and defeat all at once. Friends and family have shared differing opinions of this with a wide range of responses. In the end it is what it is. I never make purchases in this manner yet being an 80’s kid this truck speaks to me. I suppose it’s ok to make one unrestrained purchase in life. For everyone still waiting to do it the right way I’m sorry I couldn’t be stronger! I did my best but my cyberlust got the best of me.

The beauty of America is that you have the freedom to choose, the entrepreneurial construct to make things like the Cybertruck available, and the financial framework to make it affordable for you.

There are a crushing many who tragically have to walk 3 miles for a bucket of water even today. Good people who work like dogs and still don’t have the admiration of others. (I was born in such a “one well village” rich in little more than poverty

Enjoy the fruits of life, my friend but never forget how lucky we are and for how short a period..

Then continue said journey but only make sure you leave the world better for all.

in some ways, Cybertruck is the pinnacle of consumer indulgence and lust for the moment - but if it helps inspire us to bring joy in any form to others… it is a great outcome.

Short term emotions rule those who allow it. But we're all human and sometimes we sacrifice long term logic for short term bliss.

Remember that a Cybertruck will last far longer than a few months and likely much longer than a few years. So if I were you, I'd think back a few years and then also try to think forward a few years.

Fortunately, the Cybertruck as with most Tesla products, keeps on giving a great driving experience for a very long time, so even if you lose a little money or choices on impulse ordering a Foundation Series, in the long term it probably won't make much difference. Even the interior color can be changed if you don't like it or get tired of it. The Cybertruck is a long term investment for many.

The main difference is how you invest your money, and what you could've done with that saved money had you waited. Next time you have such thoughts, I would've post them here before you pull the trigger if I were you.

Yes indeed, over a 10 year period Cybertruck seems like a great purchase. Cybertrucks should be very durable and low maintenance for a very long time.... but then, what will new Cybertrucks be like in 2034? I just got my VIN# and they want $34K down payment, but I'm certain TSLA stock is going back up this year....so I'm thinking I'm going to release the VIN and wait for the non-foundation series to save $27,500 on my purchase and keep more money in TSLA stock.....great lust and anxiety!!!

The argument was simple for me:
To buy it and enjoy it for 20k, or don't and regret for 2 years and save 20k. To me, regrets are worse than losing 20k.

I could have jumped the line and gotten the Foundation Serious because I barely met the stock ownership threshold, but the truth of the matter is I don't need a truck right now. I think my business needs may require one in 2 years, which is perfect because my M3 lease is due at that point. I also think the battery will improve in a year and hopefully the stock price.

I am hoping for the trifecta in 2025 when my number comes up (need, performance increase, stock price), but right now I am just jealous of you guys .

all the comments are so gem packed-never a car or truck person but waited 2 yrs, 2 months & 6 days for the very early 2018 M3. Love the CT @ first glance watching it live and reserved the next day. I went to look @ the service center in real-amazing! But little too big-hopefully, Elon & the Gang already working on a smaller trim. Already got the CT order email-gonna HOLD it just like my T$LA.
