My RN is 112997914 with date/time of reservation: 11/24/2019 10:00:00 AM, about two and half days after the reveal.
Nice, thank you. Some 11300XXXX have started receiving the invite so hoping it is relatively soon for me.

My understanding is: FSD firmware is not currently available on the CT and will be sent Over The Air in the coming months.
Correct, and WILL be available (without charge) to FS CT owners.

Before I got the invitation, I thought about buying or not buying all day,
After I got the invitation, I ordered it immediately.

I had decided back in December that ordering a Foundation Series CT did not make sense for me.

An extra $20 for some badging, some trim and accessories that I didn't particularly want or could get for less from the aftermarket, FSD that seems like it will always be not-quite-ready, and the hardware needed to charge my truck and have my truck power my house (okay, THAT I WAS going to buy anyway). The cost of the FS CT makes it ineligible for the Federal incentive, to boot.

Then... I realized, along with many others that Tesla is not likely to sell non-FS Cybertrucks until the sales rate of FS is less that the production rate of Cybertrucks. That may not happen for a very long time and even then, every sale of a FS CT will delay the sales of a non-FS CT. This Foundation Series scheme could push the likely delivery date of a non-FS CT out to 2026 or later for me.

Then....... I got my email.

Now.............. I'm waiting for my VIN.

Eventually.............. I may decide the FSD is worth $12K ... maybe...
Hey, I ordered my CT back in early 2020. I'd buy a Founders series but don't recall ordering one ever being an option. What do I need to do to make my order be a founders series? Is it too late for me?

If Tesla sends you an invitation to configure then you can order one. They are up to RN11301XXXX.

Your transaction in 2020 established a reservation for a Cybertruck, not an order, and at that time the FS configuration didn’t exist.

Eventually you will receive an offer by email to select trim and options, but with an early 2020 reservation I suspect that email won’t arrive for quite some time. By then the FS configuration may still be the only one available (like now), or it may be an option or it may not be available at alll.

I know I was reserving one. I misspoke in that post. Or, rather, mis-typed. I just hear people getting an email saying "Your Founders series is ready to be configured" and I want to make sure there wasn't some button I need to click or an email I didn't see asking if I'd like to switch my old Tri-motor reservation to a founders series.

Nothing to do but sit back and wait. I reserved a TriMotor day 2 and when my invite arrived I ordered a dual motor. No one knows when FS will stop and regular CT orders will begin. Also no one knows when you’ll get your invite. I reserved the same time as a few friends and my brother—I’m the only one with an invite. Our RNs are very close to eachother and now I’m seeing RN orders past theirs.

I received my "Your Limited-Edition Foundation Series Cybertruck is Ready to Order" email yesterday and after giving it a great deal of thought and consideration, I just can't bring myself to paying double for half the truck I reserved... Were the hell did the 500+ miles of range go?
Regrettably RN118802214 will go to the next person in line.

I can't blame you.

I would love to know what the conversion rate is for every 1,000 FS invite e-mails. 5%?

It is likely changing the further they get into the RN list. Early on it might have been 5%, but it might be dropping.

Tesla Cybertruck I got my "Your Limited-Edition Foundation Series Cybertruck is Ready to Order, and Ordered It... IMG_1203

It took two tries, but I took delivery of my Cybertruck today, Monday, 20 May 2024.

The first attempt was last Friday, but the tonneau cover wouldn't roll all the way closed and then wouldn't reliably move in either direction. The Tesla folk drove it back into the shop to fix it, but after a couple of hours we were told that a simple re-calibration hadn't worked. They were able to get it completely closed, though, and I was told I could finish the delivery process with the truck as-is and could bring the truck back to be serviced later. I refused and told them I'd accept delivery when it was fixed. The Tesla people were fine with that and gave us a new M3 RWD loaner with FSD to drive until the CT was fixed and ready for delivery. We were told that it would likely be repaired over the weekend and we might be able to finish the delivery on Sunday or Monday.

On Sunday I received a message that delivery of the CT was now scheduled for Monday afternoon. Good news, except no one coordinated that with me and I couldn't be there at that time. I tried to communicate on Sunday and Monday morning by both message and calling the delivery location by phone, but got no response from the message, and the phone just resulted in a recording telling me to call back during normal business hours - very frustrating because I did call during their normal business hours!

After no luck communicating on Monday morning I decided to just drive back in the loaner to the Tesla center and talk to someone in person. That worked... The tonneau was fixed, the CT was cleaned up a bit and everything I checked worked. We went through the delivery process smoothly, and my drive back home in the CT was less stressful because of my time in the M3 (I've never driven a Tesla before).

In the end, everything was fine, and I'm completely happy with the CT.

On a side note, we had the loaner from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. It's a great car, quick enough, roomy, quiet and very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

FSD worked on it well enough on the M3 that it drove itself the 11 miles from my house back to the Tesla shop with no problems; I'm starting to feel better about paying for the FSD and hoping it will show up soon for our Cybertrucks...
