I'm interested in the cover's water resistance. Are there any tests on its performance in rain or car washes? Would it keep the bed completely dry in most weather conditions?"

Also, how secure is the cover against theft? Would it be safe to leave tools in the bed overnight? Some reviews have shown people standing on it, but does that mean it's secure?

Not sure which video it was but someone said they ran it through the carwash or heavy rains and some water got in.

So like any tonneau cover.

I'm excited to see waterproof tests to see exactly how much water gets in with different amounts of water (rain conditions).

If it is dry in light rain with a bit of leakage in heavy rain, I would be happy with that and it's basically what I'm expecting.

And as bkervaski has said, everything is secure to an extent and I would say it seems like it will be more secure than just putting it in the backseat, but I would expect someone with a crowbar could pry it from the tailgate and reach for the emergency release.

Anyone that truly wants to steal from a specific truck can probably do so. Just like I took up lockpicking as a hobby years ago and I've shown my friends how easy front door locks are to open.
The best part of the cover when it comes to security is it doesn't let people see inside. what's inside? tools, laptops, big bags of cash? or does it have some scrap wood and a smelly gym bag? or is it completely empty?

Tons of stories about people leaving their phone or laptop in the backseat and coming back to a smashed window. Even small backpacks and purses with mystery content could motivate a thief to break into a car. But it's far less common someone breaks into a trunk with no visual way to see it's contents. Especially on vehicles that likely have a good alarm system. The exception to this is I have known some contractors that have had work vans stolen from, but they were very obvious work vans with company branding all over them and it would be fair to assume they have tools in them.

I'd also be interested in what happens if there's ice/debris on it. Can you scrape it with an ice scraper without damaging the finish on the aluminum? Is the finish anodized or surface coated? Is there enough tolerance to allow some ice while the cover is stowed? Will wet leaves be squeegeed off and drop into the bed?

Why not put them in the frunk?

Would depend of the number and types of tools. The Frunk isn’t really that big.
Why not let the OP answer?

There's enough space in the frunk to put a golf bag. That easily suggests a fair size toolkit, a battery drill and a battery saw.

That's a pretty decent video to test the abilities of the cover to keep things dry, even people.

One small leak, which could be mirrored on the other side since they didn't spray the water in that direction to test.

But overall that's actually really good, especially considering that water isn't really going to be shooting up into that crack often with such force. I would like to see a close up to see if there is any lip that would actually prevent water from falling directly down. If the roof comes out over the cover a little and it allows water to flow down the cover without getting into that area, the bed will be waterproof for most rain conditions short of very heavy rain.

Definitely satisfies me so far.

Some of the video clips by Joe Tegtmeyer (on YouTube, before and after delivery event) showed they have a "rain box" in Giga texas, and I saw one, where someone was inside the cover and they took a release candidate into the "rain box" and then checked for leaks.

If your ice scraper is damaging the metal tonneau, you're digging too hard.

Maybe? Do we know what color treatment is on the aluminum? If it's paint (doubt it) I wouldn't want to scrap ice off it. If it's anodized, I would feel safer knowing that the plastic scraper is softer than the color treatment.

I just saw this walkaround on youtube. Pretty good video if you are curious about a specific spot. Seems like they just slowly go over everything silently. I just skipped to the part that I wanted to know about (the roof at the back window) and I believe that the leaks shown in the previous video won't be present except in very heavy rain. The roof comes over the over a good amount and i'm sure some water will fall down in front of that cover and a small amount of what gets in might get in the bed, but I think the bed will most likely be completely dry in the majority of rain conditions.
