Has anyone had their lightbar installed, re-glued, and then experienced a cracked windshield?

This happened a couple of days ago for me in Georgia. Nothing crazy with the weather, no extreme temperature changes.

CT was perfectly fine in the morning and was parked at home most of the day. When I went out in the evening to go somewhere, I noticed two 3 feet cracks in the windshield. It apparently congregates somewhere under the lightbar, but I can't see it just yet.

Looks to be stress cracks as I don't see anything odd on the vehicle or animal prints amongst the layer of pollen.

Annoyed and hope the fix is covered somehow. I just took it into Service a couple of weeks ago to get the lightbar re-glued and they finished it within hours instead of a day. I'm wondering if there's a new process that does something with the windshield to get it to stick like drilling a hole or something. ??‍♂

Did you get any feedback from SC as to what might have caused the issue? Interesting to hear what they say.

Lightbar removal and installation book labor time is 1.2 hours plus 1 hour of curing time. So 2.5 hours would be normal.
No drilling involved, but I could see the glass getting damaged during the removal of the original adhesive.

I have an appointment next week for the light bar and rear seal recall fix. I was thinking of just taking the light bar and not having it installed with the hope of better mounting options that might come in the future. I would prefer a removable attachment solution primarily due to the crack windshield potential problems. If anyone knows of options please LMK.

Regarding your "spontaneous " windshield crack issue here is my possible theory . If the adhesive used does not have a similar "expansion tolerance " as the windshield that could possibly cause one "stressing" the other resulting in the cracking. I had this happen to a ceramic sink that had been epoxy glued to a wooden vanity and randomly one day (years after installation) the sink broke apart in the middle of the night. When they came to replace the unit I was told that this had happened multiple times to other identical sinks in the building (same configuration) and this was their theory.

Anyone with any engineering knowledge think this could be the cause ?

Pretty sure Dow Betaseal is the same adhesive they use to attach the windshield to the chassis.

My appointment isn't for another couple of weeks. I guess I can drive it to the Service desk and see what they say about it.

The service center, probably damaged it when they were prying the old one off
I have to give the lightbar a thumbs down.

Yikes! My Service center was able to reuse mine. That reduced the cost of the repair by half.

Crazy... I should check to make sure all lights work though.

Is it nice and cleaned up around the edges….i would be concerned of left over adhesive residue.

I had my light bar installed and a week later crack appeared bottom front and went all the way to the light bar. Taking it into SC and hope replacement is under warranty.

Sure hope so. Just a week or 2 ago another member said his SC was trying to charge him $2,500 for a new lightbar on top of the cost of the windshield, saying it wasn’t transferable.

If they try to do that to you, simply get yours off with a heat gun and some fishing line.

Any update? Was it covered under warranty?
I had my lightbar installed last Wednesday and I woke up to this crack in my windshield. No impact marks.

Took the truck to the OG SC fremont and they replaced the windshield free of charge. Stated the other service center that installed the light bar did it incorrectly.

Dod they replace with new light bar or use the one from the broken windshield?.
