No air suspension was pulled you get some kind of mechanical suspension.
Yes, and they kept the adaptive dampers to adjust for changing conditions. And they kept the locking mechanical differential, nice. That will make this a very practical and capable truck. It should drive better than either a rear-engine, RWD or a front engine RWD vehicle, due to it's more balanced weight distribution and rear motor only.

Wow it's still 70k. Seems like too much for missing so many features.
Really? How much is a tough scratch and dent resistant body that will never rust away worth? And tougher glass all around?

I agree. The SS panels, SBW and RWS systems add to manufacturing costs.

I think the RWD trim would significantly increase Cybertruck sales if priced at $60,990. After the $7500 tax rebate the net cost would be $53,490.
Hopefully current CT owners can upgrade/downgrade to the new composite bed to make it more functional, maybe get a rebate for it :)

Exactly my question. The air cleaner housing is most likely the same. We will find out in June or July.

Tesla could have gone with 250 miles of range for a lower price point but it would have alienated potential buyers and increase production complication. Under real world driving conditions 250 miles equals around 180-200 miles. Driving over 62 mph eats electrons.

350 miles of range without a bed cover is truly impressive for a 123 kWh battery pack on a full size truck weighing over 3 tons. Tesla sweats the details regarding efficiency.

@Crissa So I know you have been holding out for this model. Are you going to finally push the order button?
Unfortunately, no. You guys probably won't hear much from me, if anyone noticed.
  1. The price is still above inflation by about $5k+
  2. My spouse is currently unemployed due to the market
  3. Our investments are... ?
  4. And weirdly, Tesla is giving me an error page when I try to configure to see.

  5. They have not emailed me since the advertisement for the 1.99 APR, either.

I can't commit to a new truck while spouse isn't getting income. We need that money to you know, eat and stuff.

FYI, the reason this model/trim is important is the Tesla stretch. A lot of us, back in the day at least, never planned to spend what we spent on our first Tesla. But we stretched to get it. Did I get a P Model S? No, but I did stretch for a 100D. Thanks to the stock, it turned out to be the cheapest car I ever bought even though it was the most expensive.

Except for the Rivian (I think), no one else has a tonneau cover standard, let alone one that's hard and locks. Also, as someone else said, 90% of trucks don't have air suspension either. If you're stretching to get a Cybertruck compared to a regular truck (or another EV truck), this will be just fine. Also, it's the only truck out there where if you get back a big tax return or a raise, you can buy FSD later (or pay monthly). Just my $0.02...

Looking at this thread, it appears three, maybe four owners have this issue. Does not seem like that is the entire CB fleet.
I hope that is true, because than they can fix mine which I picked up in June of 2024. Why wouldn't they fix Kyle's from OOS if it wasn't all of them? I truly hope they can fix it.

Service appointment 4/16 for that and lightbar. I'll let you know.

That is a lot less features for $10k less than AWD. It doesn’t feel worth it.
The other side of that is how many features you get for 10 grand. My guess is they’ll have to drop the price another 10.

This price will push more people towards AWD, and Tesla has a buffer to lower RWD prices in the future. If they had released RWD at $60K, they would see less sales for AWD and wouldn’t be able to lower RWD prices in the future. This is a genius move, but it’s also Marketing/Pricing strategy 101.
Yep why ? around with new LR, sad but true you can get so much more for $9,990 with the AWD.

Ha that’s what so many said when the $120,000 first came out vs the $99k. Ditto!

Still holding out! ?

It's possible the change in the tonneau is a planned opening the opportunity for more actual work related racks and bed caps. I really feel like this is a fleet truck offering. And more "budget" buyers of course.
This was my thought too. Fleet and work trucks that will get caps can save on the tonneau. I want to see a Cybertruck Ambulance.

The other side of that is that Cybertrucks need to sell enough units to justify building caps for them.
