I have 17,000 plus on Michelin's. They are wearing exactly even and have skipped one rotation because all 4 were exactly the same wear. They have deep tread and I expect them to go 60,000 at least. Warranty is 80,000. Running 61 pounds and a little more when I tow.

I think the OEM tires are fine but per mile cost is higher because the just won't last I think. I sold my OEM tires for $500 and used that plus my voucher for a full set of winter tires, rims and TPMS valves from Tesla.

So, I am set for a bit on tires.

Thanks for the detailed thoughtful answer! Certainly some things to consider.
I have winter tires Bridgestone blizzaks on mine now .

For me with snow and ice where I live its not even a point of discussion . Winter tires are an absolute necessity and dedicated ones. nokian or blizzaks is pretty much the commonly used winters around here . Have also used Pirellis as well . They all good . different tire compound .

have a look at them and pick the one you like best .

I definitely need snow tires for ski season in Vermont.
Have K03 on another vehicle in winter and they are simply not very good in snow, in all types of snow they are pretty slippery and don’t hold direction very well.
As for the Wrangler RT, I’m super skeptical these will be any good in snow or anywhere close to quiet.
I’m contemplating a separate wheel/tire set, but they are quite big and off-season storage is something to consider.

I live in the mountains and love the ko3s we are at 9500 feet with constant snow from December through May I live in a ranch and they are great tires. I don’t understand your disconnect.

You are running the Michelin Defenders at 61psi? When I had mine put on, Discount Tire said the recommended 55psi vs OEM at 50 and I've been running them at 57. Can you help me understand your rationale for 61? I'm not questioning it at all. Just trying to understand. Figure I might get a small fraction more efficiency but don't want to harm the tires or decrease safety. I know there are many factors to consider and really not well versed in them all.

The max pressure is 80. With a lot of heat and load, does run it up. But 61 pounds gave me even wear on all 4 corners. Less flexing, longer life as long as the center of the tread is not wearing more than the corners.

The numbers I posted previously seem to be pretty consistent.
I’m in south florida and very interested to know how your tires perform in the heavy rain. Does the tire still stick to the ground under hard take off and cornering?

I too am trying to decide between these two tires to replace my OEM ones. My biggest consideration is how well they perform in wet weather as I live in South FLorida were it can rain really dam hard and rain performance of a tire makes a big difference to staying on the road or sliding off into a ditch. I’m leaning towards the BFG KO3 but interested to know what peoples experience is using those tires or others in very wet weather.

Any noticeable difference in efficiency? I'm also considering the Defenders for the tread life warranty and hoping they'll be more efficient as well. I'm not changing until my ATs need replacing, but they're my top contender atm.

Same about not replacing until needed which will likely happen before winter 25/26
