That doesn't sound right, but is there any motion to the body of the truck when the sound happens or ground discontinuities under the truck?

Thump shouldn't happen as far as I know, but it is shifting weight around which can cause rocks or pavement or load to shift around.

There was motion and was the first time I did extract or high, but if course I can't replicate it. I now record everything so maybe I'll get lucky.

OP, was your foot on the brake? I remember reading on here someone had noises when lowering/raising while depressing the brake.

I also remember someone (@Cybergirl ?) saying they heard a loud “pop” when going to extract.

The wheels get closer together as the suspension goes up. This can cause some popping noises from the tires sliding if they aren't free to move during the transition (while foot is on the brakes, parking brake is on, or even just on asphalt/concrete)

I definitely experience the same on my epoxied garage floors. No cause for concern. Hopefully same for you OP.

I have experienced this on high traction surfaces. Try it on dirt and see if the pop happens again.

I also have the loud popping (a single clank or pop) the two times I've raised to extract just to show friends. Both times it was in my driveway on concrete.

The tires rotate as it’s raising so I wonder if it has to do with it trying to rotate and being on concrete.

You may have had your foot on the brake when it was being raised. The sound was likely the disc brake pad breaking away from the rotor as the wheels slightly rotated while raising....
