I wonder if Tesla is so far down there because they have “recalls” that are simply over the air software updates that fix the issue? Rivian, the other all electric manufacturer is literally at the same spot of 266 issues per 100 vehicles.

As I replied elsewhere, I'm just trying to understand why people are so accepting of Tesla's failure to manufacture a vehicle that actually works.
Your first comments on this forum are trolling material.

Near the bottom of this JD Power article from June is a table . Very close to the bottom of that table is Tesla.
Not sure I buy this. I’ve had many Teslas over the past 8 years and nowhere near the number of functional/serious issues compared to traditional manufacturers, by a huge margin (like at least 5:1). This is reflective of maybe 2013-2016 era Tesla. 2017+ was revolutionary. 2nd hand experience from over a dozen friends and family aligns with mine.

My main gripe with Tesla is the poor QA/PDI with cosmetic issues on new cars and the shameless expectation that you’ll accept delivery anyway, compounded by the generally rushed and unfriendly delivery experience. Never had any drivability problems that weren’t dealt with professionally and promptly. Their service has been outstanding for anything serious.

IMHO a totally bricked vehicle or something serious is the best bad pre-delivery finding you can possibly have with a new Tesla. No-BS immediate replacement with a new VIN. I sincerely would prefer this vs. the frustrating long tail of getting cosmetic issues taken seriously.

Not a bot and not a short seller, just someone trying to understand why Tesla is getting so much positivity sent their way for producing a $100k vehicle that doesn't work.
Go easy on him, guys. He’s a stuck-in-the-past Honda driver with no idea what he’s missing. My condolences, dude.

Mostly it's visibility. People aren't checking Hondas and Toyotas for panel gap issues. That's what Acuras and Lexus are for. But Teslas compete in point of sale price with the latter but the Total Cost of Ownership of the former.

Quite happy with my very reliable hybrid at 1/4 the cost.
Then go have fun (or the other f word) and stop trying to understand a vehicle you don't have and don't want or afford. And let those that have it have their fun.

Exactly - I had a LS400 and a GS300 - over 140k miles on each, great cars but they also cost 70 - 80k almost 20 years ago. So 100k for the CT is nothing given the tech it as. Toyota and Honda are still 20 year old tech. My corolla had all sorts of issues, my GS300 was eating more than a quart of oil every two months. That doesn't mean all toyota's are bad. Two years in on MY (40k miles) and almost 6 months on CT and no issues yet.

And JD is a bunch of BS - someone tell me how Ram can be at the top, is that why there is still 2023 stock sitting around? And chevy, and Buick? Oh please.

Yep, especially when it's all over media and then never mention that by the time the media reported on it - most vehicles already had the overnight "recall" downloaded.

The problem with the JDP ranking is that both “dead on side of road” and “misaligned panel gap” are equal.

Tesla mostly delivers the vehicle as-is, because washing a new car provides little actual value to the customer. But dealerships are trying to sweet-talk you into making an immediate purchase decision, so they fix or obscure little issues to help sway you.

Does a professionally-detailed car have fewer “quality” problems than a dirty one? No, but it helps reinforce the image of quality, which in turn affects the surveys.

I’m going easy on him by blocking his drivel.
