Make Cyber Truck orders non-refundable

I am all for income limits and vehicle value restrictions. Anyone choosing a 100k vehicle is beyond needing an incentive to buy it. Those will limited means are those that need it most and can drive the larger change. By increasing the percentage of EVs we are reaching the tipping point so that it is not a luxury item anymore. The benefit of removing the majority of older vehicles owned by those with faced with the decision of another ICE vehicle and an EV, that incentive can and will make the difference.

That's for the used vehicle credit next year. It's $150K/300K for the new vehicle credit. And the date is delivery, not payment, anyhow.

There is potential value (as noted several times in the past) to Tesla either making deposits higher or non-refundable, or both independent of the rebate bill.

I suspect that most people on this forum will buy the CT rebate or not partly because we have all been saving for almost 3 years already.

As soon as Tesla announces models and pricing, everyone in line should be required to make a $1000 non-refundable deposit on the model of their choice. This will weed out the riff-raff

I don’t plan on paying it because I doubt Tesla is adding this extra step to their pre-order process.

Oh, you don't think there will be an intermediate step where when I configure my actual truck they ask for $x000 at that point, and the rest at delivery? That's always the step I stop at when playing with the configurer of the S3XY models.

I think there will probably be a fee when you actually order the truck.

I don’t think there will be an additional pre-order deposit/ riff-raff elimination fee when they announce the models as CG suggested here.
