You miss one critical piece, the towing aspect. I agree with you as long as your not towing. But towing demands a 500 mile rage (which while towing the range will be halted to 250 miles).
I've been towing trailers, primarily with 1/2 to 3/4-ton pickups, my entire adult life, over 40 years and I can only recall one trip that I had to tow further than 200 miles in one day. And that's over a lifetime of towing a wide variety of boats, equipment, building supplies, tools and box trailers using mostly 1/2-ton to 3/4-ton pickup trucks. Almost all of the jobs were under 100 miles.

No, I didn't "miss" anything, I simply wasn't addressing the niche use of using a 1/2-ton pickup truck to do long-distance, over-the-road towing. It's not a big market, particularly for the most popular class of pickups, the 1/2-ton segment that Tesla will be competing in.

Has the West seen more expansion in the network than other parts of the US?
I don't know how the East Coast expansion has been doing, but I've seen quite an expansion around here, including over the border in British Columbia. New Chargers have been popping up all over, it's almost like Tesla is planning for an explosion of new EV motorists.

Oh, wait...

I need to pull my tractor. Hills of Arkansas. Lack of charging station where I live.
How far do you need to tow your tractor? It's generally considered uneconomical to tow heavy equipment hundreds of miles due to fuel and clock time. It's more economical to hire local equipment.

Think about traveling Alaska, we definitely need 500+ mileage. I am retiring soon and planning to travel all the National park with my CT with Tri. please please 500+ please
0.2% of Americans live in Alaska, so you will have to forgive Tesla if they don't put Alaska at the top of their list for the transition to EVs. It would be foolish to prioritize Alaskan Superchargers in terms of how many people it would transition to electric.

I would also like to see more Superchargers in remote, out-of-the-way places, but I understand how Tesla is using actual user data of Tesla customers to prioritize new locations where they will do the most good. The best way to get more Superchargers in your area is to get more people to buy EVs. All of us were at one time in the "chicken or the egg" situation. As long as EV adoption is growing faster in the lower 48 states, Alaska wil take second fiddle.

My duck camp is 150 miles in a remote area. It's a 40 HP tractor not a heavy equipment. My Ford Platinum will go 650 miles. If the Cybertruck will make 500 miles, I will buy it. If not, I will sell my slot. I'm less than 150,000 number on the list.

That is music to my ears (and anyone else with sweaty palms waiting for delivery)!

I wish more people were like you, you know, with atypical needs that a Cybertruck cannot handle. My Father-in-law has a huge (hundreds of acres) duck hunting property in Eastern Washington as a co-op with other duck hunters. For the last couple of decades they have been using heavy equipment and rehabilitating the waterfowl habitat (reclaimed from farmland that was previously waterfowl habitat) and the ducks have returned in record numbers. Hunters' paradise. But they brought electricity in on site from a nearby farm road, so they will have no problem keeping EV's charged.

I'm in the PNW also, rural area and it makes me happy to see the network even as expanded as it is currently. I'm entirely new to EVs but the CT reveal made me more inspired to buy a vehicle than I've ever been, and I normally get irritated driving anything without a standard transmission. My plan is to weekend-warrior in every direction, turning on FSD as soon is work is over and visiting the best the west has to offer. Charging will be vital.

Remember many EV makers are now using the Tesla network, I don't know the details but I imagine in a few years it will be very busy at the electric gas station. Someday it we might see just as many of these as we do normal gas stations.

150K could be a year+ away

no real way to know until ramp starts for several months and we get a feel for production

or, after a few months, Tesla could ditch the reservation line and it’s a free-for-all

In either event, you’ve got several months before you have to make any decisions.

Go hogs.

Check out this site that shows permits (blue), under-construction (yellow) and opened (red) over the last X days: https://supercharge.info/changes
It is impressive. You can narrow it down to some particular states as well. See purple box (deselect all, then select individual states).

For Australia it is not up to date, I have cross-checked against the Tesla.com rollout, and it's missing quite a few. I'ts been accurate in the past, so maybe it is an update cycle.

It is crowd-sourced by volunteers and adders like you :)

About
Long-distance electric travel was not possible for decades until suddenly, Tesla made it practical. Supercharge.info is a community of enthusiasts who enjoy tracking this world-wide transition in transportation. To contribute news regarding supercharger construction or updates create an account and visit our forum at forum.supercharge.info.

Additionally there likely is Australia TMC forum threads. TMC is where I see many adds. In fact right clicking on a dot the forum link goes to TMC. Looks like you could use either forum to notify of supercharger sites but TMC seems preferred (based on the link example).

What kind of naive comment is that?

Tesla doesn't prescribe the "ideal conditions" used by the EPA to determine the range numbers automakers use, the EPA does. And everyone has to use the same EPA prescribed conditions.

I thought everyone knew that.

And they are not "ideal conditions", merely easier than average conditions. Under close to Ideal conditions, the original Model 3 with 310 miles EPA range was demonstrated to go around 620 to 630 miles (depending upon who was testing it) before the battery died.
my comment is less naive than yours in fact!!!!!! ? ?
