Well, the different ranges get you different batteries. That's always been true, but it's even more true now!

-Crissa
True, but that isn't really a choice. You choose the trim and they give you a battery. Its not like choosing the color or wheel size which are options.

Waaay too fucking complicated.

People grok broomsticks. Match right broomstick to their broom; technology be damned.

Seriously, Tesla should sell broomsticks, not rocket science. Broomstick reuse is a feature just like SpaceX broomsticks. Tesla should sell Falcon, Heavy, Super Heavy and Starship broomsticks to match every broom it sells.

Not really. @Crissa was just trying to be supportive. There are really no battery choices.

Then how are the dealers supposed to sell you rustproofing for your iron-phosphate battery

Tesla does not sell battery chemistries. Everything @Crissa said is summed up in the range number on the marketing page for the car. The only thing consumers have to choose is : 250 miles, 308 miles, or 330 miles (or whatever the exact range is for the 3SR 3LR and 3P are).

You will not find the acronym “LFP“ on Tesla’s site.

People over on TMC ask “how do I know which battery chemistry I have”? Basically there’s some minor difference on the charge screen, but otherwise there’s no mention of it.

You can tell which models have LFP based on which models Tesla recommends you charge to 100% instead of 80%.

Might not be on sales site but LFP is mentioned in the Model 3 manual for locations & languages where Model 3 with LFP are sold.

Once LFP is avail in U.S. it will probably appear is U.S. manuals.

Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries

Some vehicles are equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery. To determine if your vehicle has a LFP Battery, open the charging screen on your touchscreen and then touch Set Limit, or open the charging screen in your mobile app and drag the slider. If the image of the Battery displays "50%" and "100%" then your vehicle is equipped with a LFP Battery. If the image of the Battery displays "Daily" and "Trip" then your vehicle is NOT equipped with a LFP Battery. Disregard this section. If your vehicle is equipped with an LFP Battery, Tesla recommends that you keep your charge limit set to 100%, even for daily use, and that you also fully charge to 100% at least once per week. If Model 3 has been parked for longer than a week, Tesla recommends driving as you normally would and charge to 100% at your earliest convenience.

2. Set limit: Adjust the charge limit by dragging the arrow below the battery to indicate the level of charging you want. The setting you choose applies to immediate and scheduled charging sessions.

You think that TMC is a news source do you? That says a lot.
