Given the “up to 7000lbs statement” by musk and the VIN info released, im gonna guess the tri motor has a ~ 2200-2500lbs payload

Noting that the glass is not 'bulletproof' is really just a disclaimer IMO, as there are so many kinds of munitions, piercing tips to concentrate impact, and the weight in grains. So it would be extremely difficult to make 'bulletproof' glass these days, as evidenced by how thick the glass is on the 'beast' limousine or in bank teller windows, convenience stores, etc.

I'm still hoping the glass is very strong and will be able to endure an impressive demo at some point.

I would interpret this as the glass will not stop a bullet, the same way the stainless steel panels did on the Tomi gun test

I don’t think the glass was ever promised to be bulletproof, but I may be wrong

If we assume a 500 mile tri motor is possible with 2376 cell (~208kWh usable ~2440lbs) @ a curb of 7000 that means the Cd is around 0.325-0.33. He also said its between 6000-7000k depending on configuration. If we shoot for a curb weight of ~6000lbs, that would result in a ~134 kWh usable pack (pack weight ~1625lbs).

We could see a ~356 dual motor and ~500 mile tri based on the physics and Elon's comments. This is with the assumption that the top model gets 500 miles.

The other option would be a 115kWh and 190 kWh with resulting 305mile dual and 455 mile tri.

These pack sizes would have to be about 75kWh usable difference or ~864 cells in order to get about a 1000 lb difference.

I think various sizes, weight, types of projectiles will have different results. I think we'll see more clearly with information at the reveal, or in demo tests that some people will undoubtedly be doing at some point.

I think many people wrongly assumed the term "armoured glass" meant bullet proof.
