My life for the next few weeks/months (next county over, out of my way) 😭

In NC could be 2-3 months, this is one of those things that you wanted it to break early when there were still parts, the wait for parts now is the tough part.

Overnight or same day? Overnight actually means one week for me since it’s a day drive there and back.
How long does it take Tesla to do the repair - 1 day.

That's Tesla's statement. I can't speak to a persons personal logistics.

During the 2 week wait - they performed the disconnect of the bad part and it was waiting for the install once the part arrived. It arrived on a Thursday and I picked it up on the same day.

I thought you meant your experience was one day so I was just asking if you meant it was fixed same day or overnight

?

My CT wouldn't charge. So I couldn't drive it.
I called Tesla and took it in.

2weeks later the part arrived and I picked it up the same day the part arrived.

My request went in May 10 in north Texas. My appointment is scheduled July 6, which included the cant rail recall. But even that is subject to revision as they say they are awaiting parts and will reach out when they are avail. Which I hope means it might be before July 6. At least for me, my closest supercharge is just 4 miles away.

Someone posted on this forum about a trick to allowing you to charge at 24 A. It's something to do with the outlets in the back or something. They said they had a failure and they have been able to charge for some period of time now
I tried this but my outlets are disabled and cannot turn them on. I plugged in my truck and tried to hit “start charging” at 24 amps and it just doesn’t do anything at all.

I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to go out of my way to a supercharger tomorrow or Saturday morning.

you need to get your repair scheduled so they will turn on free supercharging

I have free supercharging enabled now. It’s just very inconveniently out of the way to the nearest supercharger. I don’t have any in my county.

i feel for you. I never supercharge, but it’s now my life. 4 miles to buckys. Lunch. Netflix. Currently watching the fifth element. My new life. Not terrible.

If it was 4 miles away I wouldn’t hate it so much. It’s far enough that I need to charge to 100% so that it lasts all week. I’m keeping Cabin overheat and sentry off at home now so it lasts longer.

Also if we had a service center that wasn’t 2.5 hours away…

in the charging menu, turn on low power mode, that will help even more.

When dropping off the car for service, do you have to give them the car with over a certain % charge? Out of courtesy I always do but it’s also gonna be tough to stop at a supercharger for 30-40 minutes prior to an appointment.

i did, ran mine up to 80% bc I knew they would have it a few days and read on here others watched theirs drain super low. But part of the repair is them testing it, when I got mine back a full 7 days later, it was still at 80 or 241 miles in my case.

yea, PCs is discounted to 1k, 970 actually, however labor and all the other things it takes out with it, is not. But to answer your curiosity simply charging at 24 amps or lower will not protect it.
Update:

Tesla Setvice manager called me this morning and told me they had meetings and discovered an issue with there billing system regarding the PCS repair. They will be making changes to that system so that the overlap in labor is correctly calculated when doing multiple parts relating to the PCS. In my case they will be refunding me 5200 of my 6k ish repair. That’s exciting and a very noble thing to do by Tesla.
