I think a recall is highly likely now but also Tesla has been offering 1k goodwill price so not a big deal. Just really curious if home charging at only 24A protects it though using the outlets also overload it so prob need to try that soon with my portable fridge.
yea, PCs is discounted to 1k, 970 actually, however labor and all the other things it takes out with it, is not. But to answer your curiosity simply charging at 24 amps or lower will not protect it.

Labor was discounted on your invoice along with the PCS part cost. The other parts weren't, but the total labor may yet be further reduced 🤞

Have you asked your service center if they could provide a loaner?
I was actually out of town yesterday near the closest service center in Charlotte (2.5 hours from home). I called and sales said they cannot access service and cannot provide loaners. Service is only open M-F.

Driving over there in the evening and sitting in my truck for an hour to get to 100% charge isn’t exactly a fun use of time 😜
You could always play Mahjong 🤷‍♂️

The PCS only took about 1 month to get here in Las Vegas.
Total service time was 6 or 7 hours, but they also did the 1/2 shaft bolts recall and installed the lightbar

Mongo, thanks to your help I was able to get the commercial tax credit during that whole mess a while back when people with CTs were dealing with that issue, I still feel like I owe you one!

Well here I am again and now I have a PCS failure VIN 41997 and 78k Miles 😞

I've tried to read up through the forums but I can't seem to find the latest info, is $1,000 without labor with the goodwill thing?

Someone also mentioned there's a trick to get 24A charging in the mean time?

Mine shows PCS cyclo B has an issue, I dont see anything for the A side in the service menu, yet I had only one charge at 24A and nothing now...

Thank you for all your help!

Someone posted on this forum about a trick to allowing you to charge at 24 A. It's something to do with the outlets in the back or something. They said they had a failure and they have been able to charge for some period of time now

Where? Can you link it? I've been reading through every thread with PCS in the title and nothing...

It seems to be around $1k total (discounted parts and labor).
I think the 'trick' was just someone's truck on X that was on the border of failure so letting it sit overnight 'fixed it. But you can try leaving it unplugged for a few hours and/or doing a "power off".

I need to go somewhere 3 hours from home. I am on the waiting list after my first 24A fault. Should I rent a car if I will be that far from home?

my service center is a solid 2.25 hrs away. As luck my as you have superchargers close you should be okay. Go hit a super and verify you can charge and check your map if there’s one close, set arrival energy to like 90% should tag the closer one to your stop.

Tesla Qouted me just shy of $2,000, this is honestly infuriating and completely unfair, every cybertruck is almost certainly going to need this part.

Anyone have an NHTSA complaints link to join? A class action or any recourse at all?

Thanks

this is what I found.

Mine failed on the first of May. I supercharged a couple times and saw a post somewhere where someone said to turn on the outlets in the truck and then set to 24A and it would charge. Been working for me ever since. Hoping it doesn't stop and I have to go back to supercharging. I have a SC about 5 min from my house but it's still a PITA.
