I charge routinely at 12 amps so I really baby the battery and charging system. Got the PCS failure notice yesterday and free supercharging after discussing with service. They moved my appointment to July 24 citing lack of parts availability.

Now the car won't charge even as low as 8 amps.

Fortunately for me at least plenty of superchargers around.
I'm glad you mentioned that. I too have been charging mine at a lower rate, hoping that it won't fail. My truck is 23 months & 22K miles. What is yours?

Over 2 years old, less than 14000 miles. I also only charge to 60%.
Which revision of the PCS?

Bought my AWD in July '25, I'm on Rev E.
So far so good. Knock on wood, salt over shoulder etc etc.

Looking for opinions on a used Cyberbeast purchase and a fair offer

I’m considering purchasing this 2024 Cyberbeast with about 18,000 miles:

CarGurus Listing
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/share/451693189

I’ve already driven it and took it to Tesla. They checked the VIN and confirmed:

  • No charging restrictions
  • No obvious service issues
  • Nothing outstanding that immediately concerned them

The truck has:

  • Nice wrap
  • Several Tesla accessories installed
  • Core wheels
  • Clean history from what I’ve been able to verify

The dealer is asking $89,000 (plus a $620 doc fee).

I’ve also been comparing it against Tesla Certified Cyberbeasts that have been listed around $85,500–87,000. Those include Tesla’s inspection process and an additional 1-year/10,000-mile Certified warranty, which I think has real value.

One thing I’m trying to factor in is the PCS (Power Conversion System). I know there have been discussions in the community about PCS replacements. I don’t know whether it’s something that should materially affect the value of a used Cybertruck, or whether it’s simply something covered under warranty that shouldn’t influence pricing. I’d like to hear from owners who have experience with it rather than speculate.

My questions are:

  1. What would you consider a fair purchase price for this truck in today’s market?
  2. How much value do you place on Tesla Certified versus buying from an independent dealer?
  3. Would the potential for a future PCS replacement change your offer? If so, by how much?
  4. If you were in my position, would you buy this truck at the current asking price, negotiate further, or wait for another one?

I’m genuinely looking for owner feedback, not trying to justify a low offer. I’d appreciate hearing what you would do if you were writing the check today.

i think if this matters, all you're doing is postponing it till you're out of warranty. Think about that.
I've also already just had the PCS replaced. .My intention was to not stress the battery for longevity, which actually is a thing. Did not even know the PCS would be an issue.

Actually I don't know the PCS revision. Probably an early revision since I've had it since May 2024.

Thought for 5s
Here’s how to check the PCS (Power Conversion System) revision on your Cybertruck:
1. Easiest Non-Invasive Method: VIN Lookup Tool
  • Go to: pcsinfo.vercel.app Pcsinfo.vercel
  • Enter your VIN.
  • It will tell you the installed PCS hardware revision (e.g., which letter revision like D, E, G, etc.) and whether it’s one of the affected versions.
This is the quickest way for most owners.

I got mine right before yours, April, but have 30k miles and also had the D version before it was replaced.
