On the earnings call they said they have built a number of ALPHAs and more or less acknowledged that this “Leak” is legit. They confirmed rear wheel steering and suggest that they have made additional smaller improvements which are not visible.

They say its still largely true to the initial vision and are planning on launching the beta trucks next year.

Side Note: Alpha is usually a product which has experimental features which may not end up shipping or it might be missing final features. Beta is more or less same features as the final but working out the bugs in production and manufacturing.

Other Side Note: I know that’s not an entirely perfect description of Alpha vs Beta, don’t @ me.

Whar @Ogre is saying is that these are not beta... these are alpha.
holy crap....."beta next year".......it obvious that it wont happen this year.....but next year (2022) is 365 days long......no battery yet, no final design yet, next year not here yet......so I'll bet there will be no CT from the production line in Austin until 2023......wish Elon would just say it

Reservations holders may defect and purchase other BEV pickups.

I will be shocked if the CT goes into production in Q4 of 2022. Most likely 2023.

Its a little like that clip of Bigfoot but it is exciting to see a new "Cybertruck", the shorters are getting nervous.

I think that he hinted at that. Didn't he say late 2022? In Elon speak that means 2023!
Thus if you are not one of the first 150,000 on the list, you are waiting until 2024.

Interestingly I’m OK with that … it would mean getting mine sooner :)

So doing really rough calculations...
Tesla Cybertruck ? New Cybertruck video showing (removable) side mirrors, rear wheel steering, turning radius! Turn composit

The curb to curb turning radius is 4 cybertucks wide.
79.8in * 4 = 319.2 in
=26.6 ft

The model 3 is 38.8 ft, and the F150 crewcab is 47 feet.

Am I am doing something wrong, or is it just that amazing?

Curb to curb = outer.

For comparison..
  • smart fortwo – 22.8 Feet.
  • Mitsubishi Mirage – 30.2 Feet.
  • FIAT 500 – 30.6 Feet.
  • Mazda MX-5 Miata – 30.8 Feet.
  • Mitsubishi i-MiEV – 30.8 Feet.
  • Toyota Yaris – 30.8 Feet.
  • Toyota Prius c – 31.4 Feet.
  • FIAT 500L – 32.3 Feet.
So either I am wrong, or the cybertruck will have the second smallest turning circle of any car...

So in your image CT did a 90° turn only, you might need to multiply it by 2?
