Good idea
Just asked ChatGPT
Response:

The part with the revision number 1853255-00-D is more recent than 1853252-00-D, based on Tesla’s part numbering system.

Tesla’s part numbers typically follow a format where the first set of numbers indicates the base part type, and the final alphanumeric suffix (e.g., “00-D”) specifies the revision level. Parts with a higher numerical base number (1853255 vs. 1853252) are generally more recent or specific versions. The 00-D indicates the same revision level of the respective parts.
What about the post that said they got 1853252-97-D? I was told I got a revised part, but apparently just the original one with 1853252-00-D

Strange because the fluid sprays *much* better now even though it looks like it was just swapped with the same original blade 1853252 00-D. Maybe the old one was faulty?

I’ve been using Chemical Guys CLD30116 HydroView Ceramic Glass Cleaner, Water Repellent & Protective Coating

Has really helped
Blade even glides smoothly on random automated dry wipes
Available from Walmart & Amazon

How long is it lasting?

HydroView Ceramic Glass Cleaner, Water Repellent & Protective Coating is a cleaner and protectant combo.

I have been using it as a glass cleaner on all the glass so I’m some a sense, it’s self renewing.

Did a little scouring of the Internet and found this in the original recall for the motor
See link below
The 97-D is actually just a removal tool
Special Tools 1853255-97-D
WIPER ARM REMOVAL TOOL

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCRIT-24V456-0735.pdf

Also the 1853255–00-D has been around for a while at least since July of last year
It’s been mentioned in this forum.

Says it's hydrophobic. Have you tried it on your rear camera? Any noticeable changes, if so?

I haven’t, but that’s a great idea.
I did purchase the hydrophobic camera cover from abstract ocean but have not installed it yet. I was going to wait until I was back in the northwest where it’s almost always raining.
Currently in Palm Desert, CA, where there’s hardly any rain.

Please let us know if you do get a chance to try it on the rear camera in the rain. I bought the hydrophobic rear camera cover, too, but it's been too wet outside to install it!

Yesterday I cleaned the wiper with dish soap and hot water until the black stuff stopped coming off, which I assumed wouldn’t happen since it was supposedly new. I also cleaned and polished the whole windshield.

The windshield got a coating of ice/snow this morning at 15°. I turned on defrost, immediately used the wiper a couple times, then sprayed fluid. The windshield was completely clean without any major smudges. I’ll try to do a video next time.

I plan to try the chemical guys ceramic window cleaner first from now on, then glass ceramic coat from DIY detail as a last resort.

DIY detail has the BEST pro quality stuff at consumer level cost (and skill level/application). Absolutely love their business model. Their Youtube tutorials are on point too. Zero BS.

If FSD is dry wiping a lot, then I'm going to guess that either the inside or outside of the camera bay is a little dirty. It's by far the hardest place to clean on the outside.
Tesla cleaned my camera. The problem seemed to go away but started again after the FSD 13.2.2 update.

My question is whether the new arm/blade wipe the windshield any better. Between streaks and using a LOT of washer fluid to clean the windshield the version I currently have is by far the most problematic feature for me on my Cybertruck. Second would be the useless rearview mirror but at least sometimes (when it isn't dirty) we have a rearview view.
I absolutely agree.
