I ordered the Cyberbeast Foundation on March 31 to take advantage of the APR. While ordering it said the CT was ready to pick up, but since ordered , they say the vehicle is not ready and will not let me proceed with pre-delivery tasks. I was really excited when I ordered, but now having second thoughts with the negative press and the concern in some articles that they may scrap CT altogether. I still love everything about it, and want to get the black matte wrap.

Even if they discontinued it, you will still have your warrenty, and it’s not like Tesla is going anywhere. I think the foundation series is a bit over priced. But I got the CB foundation series, and would 100% do it again, even with the negativity.

the concern in some articles that they may scrap CT altogether.
I'm curious to see these articles. Can you reply listing sources for them?

I don’t think there’s anything but rank speculation about them canceling the CT. None of us speculating about that know anything for sure. I’ve stopped paying attention but it seems like anyone buying one now is getting some pretty substantial benefits so if you like it I would get it.

There isn’t anything like it, but it’s definitely notorious so you certainly have to consider whether that’s something you want to deal with. Nobody can make that decision for you.

But as we said above it’s not like you’re buying a Fisker Ocean or something. Even then, I had a Amazon delivery driver pull up in a brand new one recently that he got for under $20,000 and he could not be happier with it! Even that with a completely defunct manufacturer is still a great looking car and people will find a way to work on them, so long as there’s residual value.

CarScoops, Jalopnik and the like, no doubt. Not anyone who has any insight at all. It's their wishful thinking because EM lives in their brains.

The negativity will pass. You will not regret purchasing the Cybertruck. We are on a long road trip, all of the interactions have been positive until we got to Delaware. I just ignore everyone, not worth trying to talk to someone that formulates an opinion of you based on the vehicle you are in. I have zero time in my life for humans that have zero ability to think critically.

So the reason for the delay on pickup is almost certainly due to the Cantrail recall, they won't deliver one with that open recall.
Unlikely they will discontinue the truck, worst case scenario is it becomes a niche product like the Model X.

I love these negative threads...it gives me more reason to not buy CB FS...but then I read the rest of the thread and the logical responses by members...and then ah shit.

Your 2nd thoughts are very reasonable. I was flipped off twice just today. Some people will hate you, lash out at you, possibly swerve/veer into your lane and hopefully not, vandalize your shit.
I don’t think these lunatics are going to stop anytime soon.

Saying all that, the truck is a blast every time I drive it. I’d highly recommend having a 2nd car/beater. Personally I love driving the beater for a week then blessing myself with the CT for a few days.

Free super charging would be sweet to have.

More opinion pieces - but a lot of them.
You know what they say about opinions and _______.

Tesla will not scrap CT. If they had another truck line then it might be a possibility but they will not back out of such a large market without something else to cover it. IMO the current negativity will long-term help CT sales. Not just the "there is no such thing as bad publicity" line, but because it has resulted in it being acceptable to a (large) group of men who previously felt threatened by it.

That’s what I do … take every rumor as gospel. The fact is that the Cybertruck is one of the best trucks/cars ever made, there is a recall now that is probably affecting production/delivery, Tesla built an entire factory around the Cybertruck, and there really are small-minded people that are redirecting anger at what is happening in this country at Tesla owners. You can buy, or not buy, as per your right, but at least do it based on facts and your desires and needs and not on rumors.

Did you do any of the Delivery Tasks? Did you get a VIN? You must have if they had a vehicle ready for pick-up. There's a "help" button, I'd hit that and see what's the holdup. I ordered on the 24th, and took delivery on the 31st.
