Good Evening,

I thought I was having charging problems. I have correct wall mount. Plugged in my truck and gets 48a, but only charges at 24-25 mi/hr. The master tech tested it and said there is an issue and they were going to replace the PCS board (last week). So I picked up my truck today and plugged in at home. SAME THING! I contacted service right away and he said the problem was fixed and tested at 48a. I think they are lying or the second board was bad. They took 5 hours to replace according to the salesperson. Which also seems short. They send me a photo of a truck charging on at the shop. (the pic in red service mode)

PLEASE HELP. Is this normal charging for our truck are should it be charging at 44 mi/hr like my M3LR?? Please post pic of your screen if its different so that I can prove to Tesla that something is wrong and I was right. TIA. -Ajay

On the second photo, 48 A at 238 V translates to 11.4 kW, which is appropriate. depending on your efficiency/driving habits, the stated 24 mi/hr is likely accurate. for the same charging power (11.4 kW), the model 3 gains way more range because it's much more efficient, i.e. you use so much less energy per mile in a 3 versus a CT.

Your PCS is working as normal and 24 mi/hr is normal at 48A. Your M3 adds more miles per hour due to it being so much more efficient to drive. Your CT will take considerably longer to reach full charge at the same output current rate because there is much more capacity in the CT's pack... bigger cells and more of them.

This is normal, switch to percentage view (click on the range miles at the top) and it will show you KW charge rate. Everything looks fine to me, as others have said, you have larger cells in the CT vs other tesla, they take more to charge.

As others have posted, all looks normal.

The battery is substantially larger on the CT vs your M3LR. It takes longer to "fill" at the same charge rate.

Think of an ICE full size truck vs a sedan. The truck might have a 36-gallon tank vs the sedan at 16 gallons. If you fill the truck at, say, 5 gallons a minute, it will take longer to fill than the 16-gallon tank.
