Power Transfer Switch?

Looking to add a Power Transfer switch, found this product and seems it has pretty good reviews. Question is, will this work and is 30amps enough or should I look for something higher? Only looking to power some lights, furnace or AC and two sump pumps..

I don't see the image, do you have a product link? The 14-50 outlet in the bed will put out 40A continuous.

For AC (especially startup) and future proofing, you might want to get a larger version.

You do realize that putting one of those in means doing a bit of rewiring... Fairly complicated rewiring... Because (I believe) you will need to 'hook up' those items you want running on the backup 'panel' to that switch so that during switchover, they can work...

Also, HVAC and pumps are the WORST thing to have running on a backup system like that because they A) Draw a LOT of power when running and B) Turn on and off frequently...

The second item is actually worse than the first... It's what blows out pumps and HVAC systems like crazy, especially if they are 3 or 4 phase and not getting the required power at the unit because it uses three separate and overlapping AC waveforms, each SHIFTED at 120 degrees apart from each other...

Anyway, if you want to run HVAC and or pumps, you want to be VERY CAREFUL you have the proper equipment AND wiring in place... If you have enough battery storage, you might want to consider 'whole house' backup which may actually be EASIER becuase you won't need too many 'sub-panels'...

In any case, get ahold of a good electrician BEFORE you buy anything... They can help a lot!!

Also, you may need to upgrade your existing panel as well if it can't handle all the power and switching... 200 amps is usually pretty good for a house these days, but most older homes only put in 100 amp panels...

The wiring whip that comes with the backup panel has all the wires needed. You disconnect the load from the breaker, connect that to the load wire from the switch then connect the line side wire to the breaker.

Cybertruck can handle a bit of startup surge and the Air Con would be single phase, probably 240.
