I am on the East Coast with an activated PowerShare. Just to be sure I disconnected the comm cable as well. Will be following this post for updates. Hopefully they rolled out the firmware by geographical region. My firmware on the PowerShare shows: 23.44.906 for the Gateway and 24.20.0 for the universal wall connector.

Electrician called. Apparently Tesla told all their electricians need to disconnect communication cable from chargers tonight asap so they can push firmware update. Physically go to every single customer by tonight.
I am a Pacific Gas & Electric customer who had the PowerShare installed (but not activated) by Willow Glen Electric in March 2024. I got text message at 6:36 pm last night that someone is arriving in 20 minutes to disconnect the communication wire. I watched them do it. It was about 10 minutes worth of work. He said they are doing it for all PowerShare installs they did. They said Tesla told them it was firing off numerous error codes over and over. My install was never complete because PG&E has not approved the use of the backup switch which has been dangling there next to my meter for the last 6 months.

I haven’t paid for anything yet and I am not sure I even want it anymore since I installed a generator inlet box and interlock kit so I can manually power my home during an outage from the back of the truck.

The only good thing that came out of this was the 1 year of free supercharging they gave me in July 2024.

They told me they won’t come back after the usage to reconnect the comm line until it’s time to hook up the PGE component to reduce the trips. That means no usage monitoring at least.

Maybe the mossad got the signals mixed up

Its super easy to hook back up yourself. Takes 5 mins.

Having my PowerShare hardware installed today. What is the newest firmware the hardware should be on so I can make sure and verify with my installer?

My current gateway version says 24.36.0 which I believe is what it was yesterday.

I had mine installed last Tuesday, still not working as of yet. They updated the firmware during the install, this is the version mine is on:

23.44.906-GW3V

I thought it was strange mine starts with 23, seems I might have an old firmware despite them going through an update.

What I don't understand is why installers have to go to customers to disconnect. Can't they just suspend the update until a software solution has been found?

Apparently the state it’s in won’t allow the update to succeed.

You mean 'state/status' of the Gateway, not geographical state? (I know Tesla sometimes sends updates to vehicles based on geographical location).
