How do you even know if you qualify or not? I had no discussion with anyone about this. I just found out I had free
Supercharging by charging it.
How did you respond to the PowerShare survey that you paid for as part of the Foundation Series CT?

How are you bypassing the electricity from the grid with that?
Bypass switch. So, flip off grid. Plug in truck. Turn on bypass. It’s a simple 3 step process. I have big bold instructions on panel so it’s never forgotten.

Also had new HVAC installed last year that can be run on it. Looks like there’s 32 amps of potential draw on the truck. My small HVAC only requires peak of 6.

That said… what is the value of PowerShare if this can be done without it?

This is the subject of a number of discussions. It really comes down to a few factors:

  • Peak output through PowerShare is allegedly 11.2kW vs. 7.8 from the truck vault.
  • Automatic transferring to backup power through powershare as opposed to manual process that I have to use.

Honestly CA quotes I've been seeing have been pretty reasonable, the cheapest actually.

Someone did get a like $8k+ quote though somewhere on here ?
This seems only a sub-panel box. As stated below, with a universal wall charger and didn’t mind Manually switching, could wire to your electrical box just like a Generator plug.

Has anyone received a quote for the Cedar Park, Round Rock, or Austin area? Treehouse quoted me $4,500 and I have nothing to compare it to.

This is a good question. Although having this power share home back up connected to the cyber truck will back up your house. It takes 5 to 15 seconds or so for it to actually switch over so, your power will be out for around five seconds, if you don’t have your cyber truck plugged in at the time, the power goes out, you’ll have to get up and walk out there and plug it in and then it has to wake up and negotiate and that could take 45 seconds. So the question is valid with just setting up a standard generator connection to your fuse box and plugging your truck in when your power goes out versus this power share home back up system.

A better set up would be to have a power wall, which comes with the gateway. With the power wall, you’ll have seamless transition to power. You won’t even know the power went out and with the cyber truck connected to a Tesla wall connector, It can be configured with the system to supplement power for the power wall.

Smart Charge America quoted me about $2900, not including the Universal Wall Connector (that's north of $2k itself due to the difficulty).

My installation is still a couple of months out, since we must wait until Austin Energy can appear on-site for the utility disconnect (I am replacing the main panel).

Was it part of the pre purchase process? I vaguely remember this.

Is that a Widow Maker? Two male ends?
Two male ends. The cable I ordered had one unfinished end and one male end. I ordered another male component on Amazon and attached the connectors.
