I used a full can of silicone spray on the tonneau cover tracks, rubber vault seals, the tailgate seal, door and window seals and frunk seal because they were all frozen shut after driving home from delivery in a snow storm in January. Definitely helps keep the rubber pliable. I did the Dempster highway in August and didn't have any issues with dust in the tonneau tracks. Dust did get in the bed from the gap at the bottom of the tailgate however, I wish it was sealed better.
You can seal it better with some “D-shaped” rubber strips. It alleviates most of the dust entry into the bed area.

I thought the manual said specifically not to lube the tracks, I could have sworn I remember reading that, unless I made it up.
