I have an early VIN 3xxx and it is affected. I have a service appointment for later this month on another minor issue. Hopefully they will add it then and be able to take care of it.

I drive a MS and a couple weeks ago, I felt a little jolt and a message on the dash came on and told me that the front axel drive has failed and I can continue to drive but the there is a 83mph speed limit. I wonder this is also a power driver failure also.

After today, I am almost over Telsa SERVICE. It really does not work AT ALL like a reasonable set of expectations.

I ordered Winter Tires and Rims because I could not think of any other way to use my $2.500. After my order a month ago, I got a Service Message that made my appt for today to have Tesla install the new wheels and tires. I canceled another appt for the windshield wiper motor and Sail repair and a couple other minor things. and they agreed to move it to today.

I was promised a loaner too.

I get there, they do NOT respond to my arrival, no loander, no tires, and it will be at least Monday before they touch it. Hmm.

I feel like Charlie Brown and Tesla Service is Lucy, always pulling the ball away.

Tesla make money on the sales of EV's. Service and parts are just a necessary evil. Legacy dealers live on Parts and Service and Sales are just gravy. So ... we suffer.

Man, I just don’t get it. I’ve tried using that link 4 times now & no joy. I copied my VIN from the app & pasted it into the search box, but the search button itself is dead. WTH?
Add a space to the copied VIN, then delete the space. The search button will now work.

Recall DateRecall NumberDetails
November 5, 202424V832Description:
Tesla has issued a voluntary recall on certain Model Year (MY) 2024 Cybertruck vehicles produced within the build dates November 6, 2023 – July 30, 2024, that are or were equipped with metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFET) in the drive inverter. On affected vehicles a fault in the drive inverter may cause it to stop producing torque.
Safety Risk:
If the inverter stops producing torque, the driver loses the ability to apply torque to the vehicle using the accelerator pedal resulting in a loss of propulsion, which may increase the risk of a collision. No warning occurs prior to the loss of propulsion. However, when the driver loses the ability to apply torque, they will immediately receive a visual alert on the user interface, with an instruction to safely pull over the vehicle to the side of the road and contact Tesla Roadside for assistance.
Remedy:
At no charge to the customer, Tesla will replace the recalled drive inverter with a drive inverter equipped with a properly functioning MOSFET component.

Looks like some drive unit might also be replaced based on VIN. Attached is the Service Bulletin SB-24-40-009.

Here are the affected VINs and what is needed to be replaced.
FYI: I had my rear inverter replaced at the beginning of October. Now it looks like my front inverter is due to be replaced also.

Unfortunately all Tesla service centers offer different levels of customer service. They are not consistent like a fast food franchise.

Why didn't you say Tesla Service Centers are consistent, like the repair shops of legacy dealerships?

Because I can count on running up surprisingly high (questionable) bills at legacy dealerships just as certainly as I can count on Tesla to not overcharge me. :ROFLMAO:

Fast food is not as consistent as you think. There are area McDonalds that I avoid for that very reason (like legacy dealerships, they have different franchise owners).

That's not to say Customer Service and service expertise don't vary at different Tesla Service Centers because they are all staffed and run by humans. Of course the service will vary from location to location, and it will also change at one location over time as employees come and go. It's all about the people.

That said, I go to McDonalds a lot more than Tesla Service and I avoid fast food like the plague. And we have four Tesla! It's just really rare that one of them needs a service center.
