I am looking for recommendations for a jack and jack stands or similar gear to be used for tire rotations on the CT. I have a 3-ton floor jack and pair of jack stands, but the CT weighs 7000LBS and I don't think my jack stands (maybe even the jack) go high enough.

Garage space is limited, so the most complete yet compact and easy to store solution wins. Bonus points if the same equipment will work for my model 3 (fitting under it may be a problem)

I find the best jacks are at places like Discount Tire that often do rotations and such for free or cheap.

I have always done all my own tire rotations etc. I have two 3 ton floor jacks. I put my truck in jack mode and began lifting on both left front and rear section. I bairly got the front wheel off the ground with my jack fully extended. The rear never got off the ground. I could add pads under the jacks to get more clearance but I am at the limits of my jacks. And the risk VS reward threshold has been exceeded for me. Going to discount tire for this job.

Fair enough :)
Do you generally have to ask for pads to be used and damage not to be done at Discount Tire?

FWIW haven’t had to deal w that with my CT, but have w my MY. Opposite problem there bc of very low clearance of MY.
It is my understanding that tire rotation should be left rear to right front and opposite rear to opposite front. That makes it tricky to get those wheels off the ground unless you have a lift ? with specific Jack points you can’t get a Jack stand under the place you have jacked up. I don’t want to risk putting them elsewhere. So, I bought a spare for the Y. I can Jack up one wheel, put the spare in that one, lower it, jack up opposite diagonal wheel, exchange the wheel I removed with that one, repeat until the spare is again off the car. Yes, it’s more time and effort than other methods, but I feel a lot safer doing it that way. I took it to a tire shop, but they rotated rear to front, front to front, etc. rather than argue with them I prefer to just do it on my own time and save a few $. With my Sam’s membership, they will do it for free, but it’s not very convenient.
One detail. I don’t yet have a spare for the CT ?

I’ve been using 2 of these bottle jack stands. Perfect since you can set to higher height. I’ve rotated twice so far with no issues. See image:

Cybertruck is a lot easier than the Model 3/Y. It has separate lift points and jack points, so you can use jack stands easily. I haven't actually done it yet but I got a 3 ton floor jack and 4x 3 ton jack stands so I can do the rotations in one shot.

For my Y I don't have a good system to put the whole car up. But luckily I swap in snow tires every winter, so I take that opportunity to "rotate" each set of tires as they get put back on. That way I don't need a spare. So I plan to jack up one side with the floor jack (e.g. front right), put a jack stand (using a jack stand puck adapter for the stupid jack point on the Y) on the same side (e.g. rear right), and swap those two tires. Then do the same on the left side.

Not sure how they really work or where they are attached but when you rotate wheels, do you have to make any change for the TPMS setup, or does it still know the location of each tire ?

The car figures it out. No need to program anything.

The TPMS are located inside each wheel and use BTLE for communication.

I use quickjacks (SUV version I think 7000) on my other cars, Model s is a bit tough because it is so low and I need the extensions that make the jack taller. I suspect it would work on the CT but it depends on the jacking point locations....I use it on my Ford Lightning and wife's escalade ESV with no issues.

I purchased a spare tire/wheel and have been using it to get some wear on it and rotate with the OE wheels. I struggled the first time because the wheel/tire set up is HEAVY (about a hundred pounds) and it is difficult to align that much weight precisely onto the lug posts. I discovered this product which made the job way easier on my second pass at this:

It's a little pricey at $20 for what it is but really made aligning the wheel so much easier. They seem to recommend buying two but one got the job done just fine. Highly recommend.

Are 3-ton jack stands enough for the 6600 pound Cybertruck? Not sure how they're derated... I saw some 6 and 12 ton stands at the store, so that just had me thinking....

What is the standard operating procedure to get the truck on 4 jack stands?

Wouldn't you need to put the whole guy on 4 jacks to do the appropriate X-rtation?
