No, the doors are pushed open by a linear actuator, but they do not completely open on their own like the model x does.
Still, there's no excuse for the driver's door not to at least have an option to actuate.

Do you really want your doors opening as you pass by and staying open even if you keep walking away?

I had no idea an excuse was required! I'm perfectly happy with the way the doors work currently, but it'd be cool have the driver side door at a minimum popping open upon approach--very spaceship. Though, the hardware to fully open/close the doors simply does not exist in the 2024 model CTs.

They do close on their own if you don't pull it open. ?

Edit: though I wonder if that'd work on a steep incline... ?

I love the doors in the X. pressing the brake to close driver door is a simple thing but its so nice, same with self presenting when they open fully
I like it too but the problem is that feature is dependant on a Key Fob. Not seeing it on the CT ...

? The FSD flop on the CT release is WAY worse than a non existent auto door feature that was only mentioned in passing imo!
I didn't even know the door thing was a thing ever mentioned until after delivery. I was more disappointed in it not having an integrated pv system ?

It's been a theme with Cybertruck. Excuses should be needed when their years delayed, latest and claimed greatest product comes without features implemented that are both functionally doable and available on previous products. It's not like we haven't been hearing some of those excuses when they have been loudly called on things.

Couldn't a phone work as fob?
It does not on my old 2018 Model X. Just the basics (lock/unlock, open frunk/hatch, charge port) are available. No Front or Falcon Wing door opening/closing via the Tesla App. The FOB is necessary for passenger/driver door management. That said, I've gotten used to carrying it and it is very slick for vehicle ingress/egress and the driver door auto open is a nice parlor trick. It can be a bit annoying when I go into the garage with the FOB in my pocket and the X wakes up and the driver door opens even when I have no intention of driving.

Oh, interesting, I wasn't aware that early Model X required a fob for operating the doors from the outside. thx!

Do you know if this is still the case on the 2024 models?

I dunno but I would hope not. The App should be able to do all of those things without out a FOB to worry about.

On my previous 2016 MX you could set it to Exclude Home for the auto-present doors to mitigate this problem. But then you have to open them yourself at home. Deciding to use that feature depends on how much you walk by it I guess. ??‍♂

One new OTA update for Model X will self-present the trunk if you have an iPhone11 (or later) phone key enabled and pause for 5 seconds behind it. The CT could do a similar thing for the frunk and tonneau.
